The unmoving form of the Gold Titan lay where it did for months and years. Some corpses of its people lay nearby, and any who remained alive had routinely come by to honor and grieve their fallen leader. Only one of its subjects had always stayed by its side: the Gold Guard who had been wounded in the shoulder long ago. Not caring for the advice of the Fallen King, they stayed out in the open as they sat against the torso of the Gold Titan. Many of their fellows who had come by tried to convince the guard that what was done was done, and that they should come along with them to somewhere more concealed. The guard always refused, and stubbornly clung to the dead body of their leader with regret they did not do more on that day.
Then suddenly one day, the guard heard odd sounds in the sky that came ever closer. Startled, they stuck close to the body of the Gold Titan to try and blend in, while not leaving its side. The sounds kept getting louder and louder, sometimes being overlapped by other, similar noises. It was nothing a bird or any kind of animal the guard knew about could make, it sounded foreign, not organic. It was like a chopping sound. A collection of blades chopping through the air at high speeds, many at the same time.
After a few minutes, the Gold Guard saw what was creating these sounds. Roughly three large objects, foreign to the guard, flew overhead. They were bell-blue in color and seemed to have a large metal object sticking out right beneath the front of it. On the top and to one side of the tails of the flying objects were something blurry that seemed to be moving at a fast speed: the origin of the chopping sounds. They could not make out what was contained within each of the flying craft, but saw differently colored beings riding and controlling the objects.
They kept hidden as the trio of flying craft passed by, seemingly taking no interest in them or the Gold Titan. Soon enough however, the three trailed back and started to hover over the isolated area. The Gold Guard was able to better make out what was inside each of the flying objects, and saw that they were similarly humanoid to themselves and their golden fellows.
The pilots and passengers of each transport helicopter were confused by the sight of the area. But were more focused on the singular living, golden being that they had their helicopter nose guns trained on. They saw it was armed with some melee weapon, but at the height they were flying at, it posed minimal threat to them. They just hovered around, observing it.
"This is Bravo-One-Actual, all units, keep your guns trained on that thing but don't open fire until I give the order to." one of the pilots of what appeared to be the lead transport said into their radio.
"What the hell is any of this, sir?" the assistant pilot asked.
"To be frank, I have no clue. But, it'll be useful in the report."
"Should we just waste that thing down there? It's looking at us funny."
"We're just glorified scouts in helicopters, leave it to the other forces when they eventually get here."
"Right..."
"All units, let's get outta here. Just leave the thing alone. Bravo-One-Actual, out."
The helicopters left the area, leaving the Gold Guard confused as to what they were. They didn't really pay any mind to the encounter further, and just continued sitting by their fallen leader.
