Adventures In The Spider-Verse

So now your all caught up.

"Focus." Miguel grunts, throwing a punch that lands in my stomach, I fly backwards, groaning in pain.

"Sorry, sorry" I mumble, shooting webs and dodging his next attack.

"You may be ahead of your training but that's what I expect of you, try harder" he kicks at my head but I duck down and sweep out his legs, webbing his hands to the floor beside his head.

I laugh at him and he growls, using his claws to rip the webbing apart then tackle me to the floor, pinning me down.

"Don't let your guard down, ever, you'll regret it" he tells me before getting up, holding a hand out to help me up. "Ten minute break, be back here" he says before walking out the doors.

I go to the table with my bag on it and take a drink of water.

I've only been here a couple of days and I've already learnt so much, except Miguel won't tell me which spider people's blood he used to make the spider.

He told me that there is multiple of the same spiderman, or woman but I  am the only Doreen Mendoza that has become3r a Spiderman.

He talked about the Canon and how technically I don't have any Canon events that need to happen, hes told me nearly everything there is to know about the spiderverse and the multiverse and how we can travel through it. It's pretty cool.

I haven't gone home since I came here, yet, I've mostly been training and Miguel gave me a special room near his office.

I go for a walk outside of the training room, greeting some of the spidermen I pass, I look out the big windows at the landscape and sigh, I wish my earth was a beautiful as this. And it's now my job to do just that.

Ten minutes roll by and I make my way back to the training room, Miguel was already there waiting for me, watching the clock.

"Your late" he says.

"By like twelve seconds" I roll my eyes.

"I don't care if it was half a second, I told you to be here" he retorts back.

"Sorry papà" I sigh at him.

"no me llames asi, nena (don't call me that, girl)" he growls.

"Lo siento, Lo siento (sorry, sorry)" I say, holding my hands up in surrender, smirking.

Next thing I know, red webs are flying towards me and my head buzzes.

I do a back hand spring and dodge the webs, standing up straight and firing my own but he catches them and pulls me towards him, flipping me over his shoulder and I land on my back under him, I groan at the impact.

Miguel grabs my hands while I reconver from the land, holding then down with one hand then holding his claws to my throat with the other.

I wiggle and kick but its no use, hes much bigger than me and alot stronger.

I growl and attempt to move my arms but Miguel holds tighter, I hiss in pain and Miguel freezes then smirks.

"You've got fangs" he loosens his grip but not by much, using the hand that was at my neck to lift my upper lip slightly, seeing small fangs like his own.

I groan, "I never wanted to be in a Twilight movie".

He laughs at that then rolls his eyes, "I don't know what powers you gained from the spider, I wasn't expecting this one, but we'll have to do some tests to figure a few things out."

I sit on one of the tables while we, me Miguel and spider doctor, look at pictures of some sorts of the inside of my body.

There's an electric current that runs through my blood stream, glowing at my fingertips and palms in the images.

I figured out that the fangs produce ketamine, so if I bite someone then I'll be drugging them and they'll get knocked out. (Idk what stuff Miguel has for his fangs but I'm doing ketamine for Doreen)

I have all the basic spiderman powers too.

Miguel and the doctor talk in a corner, whispering so I can't hear them.

I manage to catch a tiny part when Miguel raises his voice slightly, "you will not be running any of those tests, I'll bring her in and she can talk to Doreen herself. Show her and explain to her how to use the power."

He looks at me when he stops talking to see that im watching him woth a confused look on my face. He purses his lips and looks back to Spider doctor who is writing a few things on his clipboard.

"Doreen, vamos" I jump off the table and quietly say bye to the doctor before following Miguel out.

"Who were you talking about in there?" I ask him in a small voice.

"ay dios mío, someone, she's gonna come help you but I need to find her (oh my god)" we walk to his office and I sit on the chair at his desk, he stands, slouched over the desk with his head down.

He sighs and straightens up, typing a few things into the computer before summoning Lyla.

"Heyy guys" she greats when she pops up.

"Hey lyla" I say, giving her a fist bump.

"Lyla, keep this search going, inform me when we it's done" Miguel tells his assistant.

"Yes boss" she salutes him.

"Gracias, lyla. Doreen, come" I stand up and follow him out of his office, he walks down a bunch of hallways until we get to the lobby. "I'm gonna send you home, but I'll come get you in two days" he days when he turns to me.

I nod at him and he presses a few buttons on his watch, creating a portal. I wave St him then step through, ending up back in my hide out, I look around the room.

The spider was still here, purple webs glistening in the little box.

I crouch down at the table where he's sitting, my face close to the container.

"Your alot weirder than before" I chuckle at the little bug.
