He could feel the soreness in his face, he could see the bruises, those purple and blue marks on his face, his lip swollen his jaw too, as he looked in the mirror, opening his mouth and showing his teeth, checking to see if they were all still there, thankfully, he ran his hands through his short black hair and inhaled sharply, and carefully put on a black t-shirt, his ribs hurt too, the bruises on his body were evident of this, covering most of his tattoos, he walked back to his room, a messy hodgepodge of clothing, stacks of notebooks stacked everywhere, especially haphazardly on the desk in front of a window, he Sat down at the foot of the bed and started to tie his shoes when he turned to see a red headed woman, she looked like she just woke up."Hey so remember when said we'd spend the day together, well, I have to go to school," Eric spoke not looking at her.
The woman was shocked.
"You said you were over eighteen," she said quickly covering up.
Eric stood up Grabbing his phone and keys, then tossed her a pile of clothes, they were hers, at least he hoped.
"I am, twenty-three, I just go to college, and you, you got to go." He stated matter of factly.
He walked out the door, amid the cursing, he sat his door just before a shoe hit it with a hard thud. With a chuckle, he entered the living room where a man and a woman were cozily snuggled up on the couch. The man stood up and shook his head, still chuckling. Eric looked at him with a perplexed expression. The man had light brown hair and striking blue eyes, which contrasted sharply against his fair skin tone. Standing next to him, the woman had brown hair and brown eyes, lighter in shade than Eric's. Their names were Stephen and Lauren.
"Another one?" Lauren asked.
Eric shrugged while grabbing his black leather jacket, and hoodie.
"I told her to leave, so either she will or she'll burn the place down to the ground." Eric stated.
Stephen gave a look of recognition.
"Was that the girl with that guy?" Stephen implied.
"Yeah and look who got her in the end, I got to go, when Josh gets here tell him to put what I asked for in my top desk drawer, money is in the same spot, and again if you smell smoke, call 911," Eric joked.
"Speaking of money, James wants to know about your share of the rent," Stephen inquired, "He said you should have it, considering you got paid."
Eric rolled his eyes and sighed.
"I have it, I'll give it to him tonight, when I get home, right now I have class." He said walking out the door.
Interpersonal communications, Eric took a seat in the second row, taking out an old laptop and his phone, then his notebook, just as a girl sat in the first row, she had dyed blonde hair and hazel eyes, her skin had that sun kissed look that said she either had money to tan or she enjoyed the sun, her name was Ryan McCormick, she was number one in class, Eric himself was second. She removed her coat and looked up at him briefly, rolling her eyes and then setting her laptop down on her desk, taking out her phone and putting it on silent mode and then taking out a notebook and a pen, just as an older man with thinning grey hair and a brown suit came in, facing everyone.
"Can anyone tell me what the actual times communication isn't necessary?" Professor Lancaster asked.
Eric raised his hand and the professor pointed to him.
"The first ten seconds of seeing someone." Eric answered.
"You are correct Mr. Roberts, you can tell a lot by looking at the person, which helps interpersonal relationships, people make the first assumption in the first ten seconds." Professor Lancaster spoke.
