I should've started attending this school of magic years ago, but somehow I finally convinced Snape and Dumbledore to let me. I will finally meet more kids like me, instead of watching from afar. Maybe even make friends, lovers, or enemies.I'll be entering the middle of my fifth year, when I should've my first year. Everyone has to watch me and only me get sorted into my house. Great.

Dumbledore took me into the wizarding world at the age of eight. He found me with the parents who raised me and took me in. He had Snape teach me of our world and magic, away from hogwarts.
My adoptive parents were kind muggles, what Snape says is the word for humans, whom I love still to this day. Neither Dumbledore nor Snape know who my actual parents are. They have tried various ways to find out to no avail.
Snape suggested testing my blood to see if I was a pure blood, a halfblood, or a squib, meaning born from two muggles. However, Dumbledore thought it would be too dangerous for how young and feeble I was.
Snape taught me to show no emotion to others who may be a threat. He may have been scary at first from the age of eight, but I would like to think I have grown on him, I always see a smile or two crack on that stone face.
Dumbledore taught me to always see all outcomes in any situation and act wisely on each action. Rewards aren't given, they are earned. That wise owl may be full of knowledge of wisdom, but he still cracks out some good jokes and tricks. He told me it doesn't matter what house I'm sorted into, as long as I stay myself, that's all that matters.

My parents, Maria and Izyik, drop me off at the train station. Before leaving the car my mom turns to me again.
"Are you sure you have to go this year? We can just homeschool you and they can send you your work by mail," my mom says.
"Yes mom. I love you, but I have to go. I'll write to you when I can, but I have to catch this train," I say as I get out of the car, giving both of them a kiss on the cheek and grabbing my bags.
"I'll miss you every second my flower, with every lily I see and every perfume I smell," my mom yells as I walk on the train platform, as they're driving away.

I always have a separate train cab from all the students, so it's just me and Snape, but after this year I'll be with everyone. I'll be like everyone.
No more silent rides or trying to get Snape to talk about something other than my lesson, which I'm ahead on. No more daydreaming of what it would be like to be like one of those kids with parents and have friends, and to play around. No more nightmares of being forever alone in the dark.
What once felt like a long train ride was now short, it could be the excitement. It could be anything, or maybe because I fell asleep. Once the train stopped, Snape and I were the first to get off.
He told me to go to my usual room until I was sorted into a house, then I could put my things in my new dorm. Once I got my bags in the room I didn't bother to unpack knowing I would have to move them again.
I shut my door and immediately put up a quick silencing spell so I could squeal in excitement. I could be making friends TODAY! Lorelai Ridley, getting sorted and meeting new people just like me. I'M SO EXCITED!
After I got my excitement out, I started to get ready, for my sorting was in two hours. Although, I don't think anyone knows besides the professors.
I loosely curled my dark brown hair away from my face, and made two small braids, pinning them together behind my head. I put on crimson lipstick with some gloss on top and have smoked out cat eyeliner, nothing too drastic for my makeup, but it helps bring out my grey eyes even more.
I know Dumbledore and Snape want me to wear those daft robes for the ceremony/supper. I'll wear them open, but I might as well do it fashionably. After going through my dresses, I find one that I have never gotten to wear because I'm always around adults. Geeze Snape's head is gonna spin.
It's a black, satin, plunge-corset-top dress with a built-in garter. The dress is the same length as my robes and has a slit to see the garter, and I pair it with simple black heels. I would've done another color, but I don't want anyone assuming I'm going for their house, so black it was.

*Nock nock nock*
"Supper is about to begin, you can meet some students now before we open the Great Hall," Dumbledore said, beyond my door.
I debated on it, but decided against it. I'd rather make a fashionable entrance, and so Snape doesn't tell me to change.
"I'll be down soon. I'm almost done," I say.
I waited about fifteen minutes to go down to the Great Hall. I was excited and nervous. All eyes would be on me, it was exhilarating.
I could hear the cheering and laughter from beyond the doors, and then the silence when Dumbledore caught their attention for a short and wise speech.
Why haven't I gone inside the hall yet, one could ask. Well the overwhelming emotions that make my whole body feel numb, but it's when I hear Dumbledore talk about the sorting hat is when it's game time for me.
"Students, I know you may be questioning why the sorting hat is here today. That answer is we have a new student joining us today, Lorelai Ridley," he says.
Before he even says my name I open the doors with my magic and walk into the hall with confidence, hiding all nerves. All eyes are on me. Boys with their mouths open, girls whispering. They're either probably wishing to be with me or be me. I'm not going to lie, there are some attractive boys and girls in each house.
There was a particular group of boys in slytherin that caught my eye. A blonde boy with a stone face whispering to a curly hair boy with a faint scar on his face, who seemed to hold no reaction. Their friends however, were whispering and kept looking my way.
I reach the professors and notice Snape looking ahead, like he said he would, but I know he's angry by the way his jaw is clenched and the vein in his neck is poking out.
"Miss Ridley, if you will let the hat sort you," one of the professors said.
I sat under the hat and it hummed and sniffed.
"Ridley? Smells like Weasley blood, a descendant possibly? A perfect match for any house. I could put you in Gryffindor with the other Weasley's, but I don't think that would be the proper assortment. Hmmm. I believe I have sorted some Ridleys long ago, but I only seem to remember the name," the hat said as it thinks.
I was shocked when it said I could be related to the Weasleys. I've heard about them from Snape, and I went into their shop one or two times. They all have red hair, mine is brown.
"Let's see. Kind like Hufflepuff, courageous like Gryffindor, knowledgeable like Ravenclaw, yet mysterious like Slytherin. Carefree, willing, responsible, and has a dark side. My, this is one of the most difficult sortings I may have ever done. Answer me this question and I'll get you sorted in no time. What would be your reaction to the knowledge of a loved one's death," the hat asked.
I was caught off guard at first by the question, but I immediately knew the answer. I have never had friends before, but if I do I would protect them with my life. The only family I really have are my adoptive parents and Dumbledore and Snape. I would do anything for them.
I take a deep breath and answer the hat in a hushed tone , only for it to hear. "Revenge."
"Very well then," the hat said.
