You look at Chara, in the middle of the living room. They're sitting down, these... orange buttons around them. The buttons have words on them, saying "RESET", "SAVE", and "RELOAD".
You start making some quiet steps towards Chara, sneaking up on them to see what they're doing. They press the button saying "SAVE", and then they get up, the orange buttons fading, and as they turn around, they get jumpscared by you suddenly being there.
"W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE??" Chara screams.
"I-I was checking up on you... what were you doing?" You ask.
"...Let's touch on that subject later." Chara said, walking towards the couch.
"W- No! I'm not just gonna gloss over the fact you had orange buttons floating around you, saying Save, Reload, and Reset! What are you? A video game character?!" You ask Chara.
But nobody spoke.
"What were those?! Answer me!" You ask, raising your voice a small bit louder.
Chara simply ignored you, turning on the TV.
"Stop ignoring me! What were those buttons?!" You asked again, a small bit louder, and walking over to Chara on the couch.
Again, Chara said nothing, and continued watching TV.
"WAKE UP!" You said, hardly slapping Chara to finally snap them out of it.
"OW! WHAT THE-" Chara screamed.
You sit on the couch, facing Chara.
"What were those buttons?" You ask.
"Like I said, let's touch on that later." Chara responded.
"That's the thing. What you said was later, is now. So tell me, what were those buttons, and why do you have them?" You ask once again.
...
But nobody spoke.
"...Am I gonna have to-"
You raise you hand up, but before you could finish your sentence, Chara stabs your hand, all the way through, pinning it to the couch.
You let out a loud screech of pain.

"But nobody came." Chara said, sounding monotone, and with no emotion at all.
You stay there, trying to get the knife out of the couch and out of your hand.
"Like and old friend told me, it was always kill or be killed." Chara said, again sounding monotone.
Those orange buttons appeared again. Chara's hand hovered over the "RELOAD" button. You were still stuck on the couch, only being able to watch, as Chara presses the button and
They press the button saying "SAVE", and then they get up, the orange buttons fading, and as they turn around, they seem like they've expected you.
"So, you wanted to check up on me?" Chara asked.
"Wh- huh? How did you-"
Before you could finish anything, Chara slaps you. You let out a small shriek in pain.
"Ow! What was that for-" You ask, before suddenly realizing what just happened.
Chara just reloaded the whole world.
"W-Y-You..." You say, before Chara interrupts.
"Yes, yes, I can reset, reload, I'm like a video game character, like I said before, let's touch on that subject later." Chara said, walking towards the couch.
You remember what happened. You take a good look at your hand. It's good as new. You sit next to Chara, but you don't face them. You don't say anything to them. You just watch as they turn on the TV, and start watching.
You stay silent.
Chara stays silent.
The only noises are the TV, and both of your breathings.
You wanna say something, but you remember what happened before.
"...Chara." You say.
"...Yes?"
"..."
You want to say it. You want to bring it up. But you just can't.
"...What is it?" Chara asked, sounding a little impatient.
"...Nothing." You say.
"No, it is something." Chara says, pausing the TV.
"I swear, it's nothing." You say.
"...Is it the save and rese-"
"It's the save and reset thing."
"...Yeah." Chara says. They sound a bit regretful.
"Why did you stab me?" You ask.
"I thought that you wouldn't find out." Chara responded.
"...How many times did you reload?" You ask.
"...Remember when I said I could kill you 1000 times?" Chara asked.
"No."
"Yes." Chara sounds a lot more regretful.
"Y-You... why?!" You asked.
"Because it never went the way I wanted it to be." Chara responded. "I just... I..."
Chara started to tear up, suddenly hugging you and just crying in your shoulder. It was very unexpected to say the least.
"Woah- hey..." You say, trailing off.
You hug Chara back, staying like that for a solid minute or two.
"I-I'm sorry." Chara said.
You stay silent, being surprised by... everything.
"I-It's fine. Technically, you didn’t do anything, right?" You say.
"But I did! I killed you! I've killed everyone thousands of times!" Chara said.
"Yes, but... if you can save and reload... then that gets reloaded, and it never happened, and you never did it, right?" You say.
"...I-I guess that's one way to look at it." Chara said, sounding a small bit more positive.
"Hey, listen. It's gonna be alright. No matter what you do, I'll always... be with you." You say.
"...Okay." Chara responded.
"Hey, Chara, listen, no matter how many times you reload, or reset, you'll always, and I mean always be with me." You say.
"Heh... yeah." Chara says.
"...Say, Chara..."
"Yeah?" Chara says.
"...So you know what I said last night??" You ask.
"You think I'm hot? Yeah, I don't care, that hug was a one-time thing." Chara says.
"...And why do you feel the need to bring it up?" You ask.
"I hate you." Chara responded.
"I know." You say.
"...You know I'm never giving you that kiss, right?" Chara said.
"Yeah, I'm fine with that." You say, crying a bit internally.
"Heh... anyways so your parents are arriving in 10 hours." Chara reminds you.
"I know." You say. "Guess these next 10 hours are gonna be the best of my life, then?"
"Oh, stop it!" Chara says.
"Okay."
...
"Wait, I mean- no! Keep going!" Chara said.
You chuckle a bit, waiting for what these next 10 hours have to bring.
