It was later on in the day, I was wearing a shirt again, one of my usual white shirts, although I'd struggled to find one that didn't have ink stains on the sleeves.

I'd retired to my office, although it looked more like a library with every wall lined with bookcases crammed with books and chests littered the floor, overflowing with scrolls, my desk barely fitting in the centre, a few candles at different lengths casting a relaxing flickering light in the slowly darkening room from the setting sun.

The servants were packing away my things, Prince Lothian had found me agreeable enough to accept the marriage proposal and therefore the alliance between our two kingdoms.

We'd be leaving at sunset.

A knock at the door disturbed me from my thoughts and I called out 'come in' without looking up from my work, even when the door opened and then closed again, the feel of another presence making the room seem even smaller.

I suddenly had a thought, what would I do now? I don't think the Lycan king would like me commanding his armies or knowing their strategic plans and I sighed, I hoped they had a good library at least that I could bury myself in for a time.

I had no desire to be the princes' trophy wife and although I was well versed in court intrigue i quickly grew bored of the fickle gossip and convoluted plots constantly going on in such high society.

There was also no way I'd become a brood mare, whether he found out it was a possibility by accident or revealed by me by my own will. I had nothing against children but having them in a foreign kingdom, essentially alone and vulnerable, my family and few friends separated from me by rough sea. It would be stupid to even think twice about such an asanine course of action.

"Working even now." my father tutted, so it was him that came to bother my last moments of peace.

I stayed silent, continuing to write whilst reading through a scroll, a missive from the front lines; enemy positions, geological information, the condition of the troupes.

My father exhaled heavily. "Look, I know you're not best pleased with me Cassis but what else was I to do?"

"Doing something on my own terms behind closed doors is completely different from being forced to do it in the public eye." I gritted out and glanced up at him. "He's going to find out, one way or the other. He won't take kindly to being lied to and I'll be all alone to face the ridicule and his anger."

My special guard had known as soon as he came inside of me for the first time what I was.

In front of others I had made it seem that I'd refuse to consummate the marriage between me and Prince Lothian but I knew it was a requirement as it was law where he came from, there will be no alliance until then.

Even if Lycan's didn't knot, with his size… god, he'd probably breach my mating channel if he pleasured me enough to make me cum.

My father frowned. "I would think he would be happy if he found out."

"A lie is still a lie, whether the secret is good news or not."

"But we're not lying, just not telling him everything."

"Lying by omission is still lying." I argued back.

"Then what about the werewolf you're brother said you've been sneaking around with?" outrage made my fingers grip the quill tightly and let the scroll I'd been reading a roll back up, glaring up at my father.

"Who I welcome into my bed is none of your concern unless I intend to marry them. Lith and the others don't have to tell you every time they wet their wick and in what whore." I spat.
