Chapter 19 

October 31, 2125. 7:36pm

Sinox stared out the window of the cabin. She looked at her paws and squeaked as Kai sat beside her. "Halloween. In my opinion, the best part of October." He exclaimed. Sinox flicked her ears and watched the humans in costumes walk by.

Kai grinned as he sprinted off and came back with a large wig and some suits. "IMA GO GET CANDY!" He stuck the long light pink wig on his head and changed into the suit. "Well? How do I look?" He asked excitedly.

Sinox took one look at him and said, "You look like you just got out of a barbie factory." Kai sniffled as a joke and said, "Awww. Why are you so MEAN, Sin? I mean, don't you love me?" He dramatically fell over on the couch, hand over his heart. "I like the acting, but save it for later, pretty boy!" Sinox laughed, her tail twitching with amusement.

She glanced behind her and picked up a black cape. She flipped it on as her tail twitched. She watched the other humans walk by the cabin, all of them were in costumes. Even some humans her size were in costumes.

She grabbed a mask and slid it on. She tucked her tail in the cape as she put on the hood of the cape. "Hmm...I think I have an idea." She murmured, grabbing a jar of fake blood. She took some of the fake blood and splattered tiny drops on her mask.

She washed the fake blood off her paws. She grabbed a pair of gloves and dipped them in the jar of fake blood. Kai sat there in amusement as he watched Sinox run around.

She grabbed a fake scythe nearby and turned to Kai with a smirk. "Sooo, how do I look? Look like I'll stand out?" Kai laughed and shook his head in amusement. "Damnit- Well, I think it looks nice either way." Sinox shrugged.

She grabbed a pumpkin-shaped basket and turned to Kai. "Let's go before they run out of jolly ranchers!" She called, dashing out the door. "Hey- Wait up!" Kai yelped.

Sinox stared at the sunset and tucked in her tail once more. She let out a sigh and stepped into the light. Kai flipped his light-pink wig back and said, "Let's get going!"

She flinched as smaller humans, maybe children in costumes, dashed by her. Kai took her by the arm and pulled her closer. "Ow- Alright, my knight in shining armor!" She rustled sarcastically.

{Literally 3 hours after trick-or-treating later}

Sinox sighed as she stared at her bucket full of candy. "I think we hit the jackpot!" She cheered. The moonlight was bright at the time. Sinox's fur was radiating a bright blue light.

They stepped in front of the cabin as Sinox dashed through the door. She placed her bucket on the nearby desk as she flopped down on the couch.

She set the scythe down and whipped off the mask, revealing her radiant purple and blue fur. "How'd it go?" Mary called. Kai looked up and replied, "We hit the jackpot, finally!"

Asher ran out, looking at Sinox's bucket full of candy. "Risky, but successful!" She cheered, twitching her tail in excitement. Kai grabbed a piece of candy and looked at it for a moment.

He put it down as he sighed. "What time is it?" Kai asked. "10pm." Mary responded. Kai jumped up and yelped, "10pm?!" Mary nodded as she yawned. Sinox took the cape and slid it off of herself. She let out an exaggerated sigh and said, "Well, Imma hit the deck. I'm so tired I might pass out right here.."

She looked up at the ceiling as she laid on the bed. She was about to close her eyes when Kai slid in the bed and hugged her. "Hello, lovely." He whispered, lightly kissing her on the cheek.

"Hello, pretty boy." Sinox retorted, flicking her tail. She ruffled Kai's hair as she smiled. "You still look like a barbie." She whispered. "I know." Kai replied.

November 1, 2125. 7:32am.

Sinox yawned as she slowly woke up. Kai snoozed as his hair was messier than a bird's nest. She snickered as she stared at his hair. She walked out and stretched with a yawn. "Oh hey, Sin. Me and Asher are heading out for a little." Mary said, putting on a pair of stained boots. "Mk..." Sinox yawned.

She watched as Asher and Mary walked out the door. Her tail twitched as she thought she heard footsteps. Finally, He's awake. Her ears perked up as she thought she heard a gasp. Wait a minute...no.. She froze. The scent of two very familiar people filled her nose.

Seconds later, the door to the room she was in shot open as someone pinned her to the wall, hand on her neck. She let out a gasp as she struggled to break free. She let out a shriek of pain as a knife impaled the side of her neck. Her vision went blurry as she grew dizzy. "There you go...It'll all be over soon..." Audrey snarled.

Blood poured from her neck as she was gasping in pain. She could hear Kai screaming her name. "NO!! LEAVE SIN ALONE!" "Jeez- Audrey, help me with Kai!" She snarled at the voice of Penny. She tried to stand up, but was knocked back down. "She's dealt with. What about Kai?"

"Didn't you have something called Nightlock?"

"Indeed, I do."

"Try some of that. Maybe it'll work more efficiently."

"True...Damnit, she's still awake. Knock her out, will you?"

"With pleasure."

Pain shot through her head as a bat hit her. Soon, everything went dark.
