Mary turned on the radio as a song played. Sinox yawned as her ears perked up. Her tail twitched as the rain pattered on the roof of the car. "Hey there, sleepy-head." Kai whispered. Sinox turned to Kai. "Hey there, pretty boy." She retorted. Kai frowned as he softly said, "I thought I told you not to call me pretty boy"
Sinox silently laughed and said, "It's funny when I call you that." Kai just laughed and booped her nose. She lightly swiped at his hand tiredly. "Stop booping me, ya goo-brain." She said sternly, but softly.
"Are you two done flirting yet?" Mary asked impatiently. Sinox let out a scoff and said, "Are you done being built like a baked bean?" Mary let out a sigh of anger and kept driving. "We're almost there."
Kai curled into a ball and murmured, "Five more minutes..." Sinox looked back at him and flicked her ears. She laid her head on his shoulder and said, "We're almost there, pretty boy. Ya think you can survive?" She looked at him, her bright sky-blue eyes glistening in the sunlight. Kai looked back at her and kissed her. "Well, Now I can."

Mary pulled up in a familiar driveway. Kai looked up, but said nothing as Sinox slept, her head resting on Kai's shoulder. "This is it." He whispered. "This was where the little puppy stayed?" Asher exclaimed. Sinox yawned as she opened her eyes. "Hey, sleepy-head. We're here." Kai said as he stepped out of the car.
Sinox shot up and dashed out of the car. She squealed happily as she stared at the familiar cabin. The sunset light radiated from her purple fur. "Is this a dream?!"
"Nope. It's all real." Kai softly said, patting Sinox on the head. She flicked her tail as she stared at the cabin.
She turned to the glistening lake as Kai stepped back. She shot to the lake's pier as the water glistened. The rain still poured, washing the dark-purple blood from her fur. Kai sat beside her. "Remember when you always found me sitting out here?" Sinox asked.
"Yep. And to be honest, the moonlight on your fur was beautiful.."
"Kai!"
"Oh come on, it's a compliment!"
"Alright, pretty boy. If you say so."
"...can I say something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"I was waiting for a while to say this.."
"Hm?"
"Sin...I love you."
"What-"
"Sin, I love you. I've loved you ever since I saw you."
"Kai..."
Sinox sat there wide-eyed. Her tail twitched as she looked back at the water. "I...I love you too." She whispered as she rested her head on Kai's shoulder.
Mary stood behind a bush, watching the two. She tried her best not to squeal as Asher watched with her. "I should've grabbed a camera!" She excitedly whispered.
Asher grabbed her by the shoulder. "Let's leave them alone." He whispered. Mary turned back and nodded, slowly standing up and walking away.
Sinox sighed as she stared out at the lake. The rain still poured, her once-dry fur now soaked. She stood up and twitched her ear. "Let's go inside, shall we?" She exclaimed, holding out her paw. Kai looked up at her with a smile and took her paw.
"Yeah. I don't know if I can survive with all this rain!" He complained. She laughed and ran inside with Kai behind her. Mary and Asher were standing by the door. "Hey, lovebirds. Got a little wet?" Mary asked with a smirk.
Kai let out an offended gasp and said, "Stop calling us lovebirds!" Mary sneered and turned around. "She overheard you confess to Sinox!" Asher exclaimed, patting Sinox on the head.
"YOU OVERHEARD US?!" Sinox yelled in astonishment. Mary went stiff as she slowly turned her head to face Sinox. "Yesss?" She whimpered. Kai put his hands on Sinox's shoulders. Sinox squeaked as her tail swung around.
She sighed and looked around the old cabin. Most of the stuff was taken. The only things that remained were a few furniture pieces, a bag of candy and a box of freezie pops. "Freezie pops!"Sinox squealed.
"Wait- did they take the damn freezer-" Sinox barked, dashing off. Kai stood there before hearing Sinox shriek, "THE FREEZER'S THERE, BUT THERE'S A SNAKE IN IT!!"
"WHA-"
"KILL IIIIT!!" Sinox shrieked as she climbed up Kai. He laughed. "It's just a snake!"
"I KNOW, BUT THEY FREAK ME OUT!" Sinox retorted. "I got it!" Asher exclaimed, grabbing a knife. "Asher-"
"SINOX, YOU NEVER SAID IT WAS A COPPERHEAD-"
"I WAS ABOUT TO TELL YOU BEFORE YOU RAN OFF, GOO-BRAIN!" Sinox yelled angrily. She unsheathed her claws and ran into the room. Kai stood there in a daze. "False alarm! It was just an old toy!" She called.
Kai sighed with relief as he put the syringe he was holding on the nearby counter.
