"Jana, where are you? Megan is waiting for you outside" I rushed brushing my hair as I heard my mom open the door of my room while I'm standing in front of my bedroom's restroom drying and brushing my hair.
"Please tell her wait for a minute, I'm just brushing my hair." I said while trying to grab the blower on the top of my restroom cabinet.
"Okay, I'll tell her but have you even ask permission from me, I don't even know where you are--" I cut her off and laugh softly while jokingly pushing her outside my bedroom.
"Mom, I am 20 and besides I already said last week that this week will be more of me and Megan hanging out since we are entering 3rd year college by the next month" she just smiled and went straight down the stairs as I slowly closed my door to prepare my make up.
I am Janaiah Morgan, 20 years old and I live in East Village neighborhood on the East side of Lower Manhattan in New York City. You can call me Jana, they used to all me that since I was a child. I have brown wavy long hair, and my eyes are light brown. I love to read, write and travel while exploring different coffees in every city I could reach. Journalism is my course and I am looking forward to write my own book in the future.
Megan Lancaster, my bestfriend and my human diary. She's 20 and believe it or not we were born on the same year, the same day and the same hospital here in New York that's why we were the best of friends since we were in high school. We are almost neighbors and we enjoy the company of each other since we have the same taste on everything... except for men.
"What took you so long? I think the books are all occupied by the time we reach the 42nd Street Library" she jokingly said while giving me smirk. As the sun from the window hits her long straight blonde hair, she stood up and grabbed her brown sling bag from our couch. Megan is taller than me, she has a fair skin and has so many freckles on her cheeks, her small red lips makes her the most attractive person in our school when we were in High school. I even love how ocean blue her eyes are. She's almost perfect.
"I forgot to set my alarm last night, and I almost forgot about you too" I laughed softly as she rolled her eyes and waved goodbye to my mom who's currently washing the dishes on the kitchen sink.
"Good bye girls, drive safe and hey Megan! If you two will come home early join us for dinner I will cook grilled beef and tuna pasta later" she shouted as Megan opens the door of our apartment.
"Yes sure Ms. Morgan, I will be here" she yelled back. Before I follow her outside, I grabbed my car keys behind the door and took a glimpse to my mom who's done watching the dishes. She's a strong woman indeed, after she filed a divorce with my father who took away everything from us, she's now looking for everything that could help us live and survive everyday especially me who's closer to graduate from school.
"Bye, mom" she stopped from wiping the plates and took a glance at me then smiled.
As we went outside, I could see the busy streets of New York already, since it's already 10am and it's nearly lunch time. I pressed the unlock button of my black honda car and Megan jumps right to the bullet seat of it looking excited. As soon as we fasten our seatbelts I drove to the 42nd Street Library which we love to go since High School it is the biggest library in Manhattan New York.
