I walk into the tournament grounds, multiple men behind me, planting banners where they need to be, by the other flags. I continued to wear my armor, which the queen and Prince found distasteful and unladylike of me to do, the king merely laughed at their comments. I walk up the steps and I bow my head to the rulers, with a slight smile on my face.
"We can get you a seat Lady Visenya if you would like," Cersei says, not sure if she's mocking me or not.
"My legs work just fine your Grace," I answer, going over and standing beside Sandor with slightly looks down at me with a smirk, "Haven't seen you around, you hiding from me?"
"No, you spend thirteen hours of your day in that council room. You're always the only one in there." He whispers and I don't look at him, just continue to look straight, staring at the other Nobles that came on invitation.
"Iron Bank wants their money back, I'm working hard to ensure they do." My hushed tone sounds almost scary when you can hear the rumbles of the two dragons all the way from the castle.
He furrows his brow and looks at me, "What do you mean back?"
"Later, I'm already getting stares from Littlefinger, and spiders are everywhere, I can see them." I look around and see a few people in their seats, nodding their heads at nothing or just plain turning around to look at the burnt pair, standing and talking.
I see Sansa look back at Joffrey, who was just staring a hole into the back of her, she gives him a small smile, and he looks at her disgusted before looking away. When she turns back around she sees Baelish in front of her, yet I saw him first and my hand has been on the handle of my sword for what seems like ages. He says something to her in his usual smirk, but my ears fail me, they must be shot from dragons screeching into them when I haven't given them enough attention.
"Can you hear wh-" I start then I see the king stand up.
"I've been sitting here for days! Just start the damn joust before I piss myself!" He says, sitting back down, almost like a chain reaction Cersei stands up and leaves. I stand up a bit straighter when I hear the galloping of a horse and I try to see over Sandor, who refuses to look. When the knight comes just into sight I roll my eyes, The Mountain, it's always The Mountain... Wherever I go. People cheer for him, including the king, yet Sandor and I stay there, barely able to look at him. He parks his horse beside his opponent and opens the weird tiny door on his helm, bowing to the king but staring at The dragon and The hound that both give him the same scowl. Once Gregor closes the helm, the other knight opens his and repeats what The mountain did, just actually looking at the King. Ser Hugh of the Vale, Jon Arryn's squire. That's all I hear Littlefinger say and I know Sansa is going to hear all the stories about all the important people of Westeros and how they connect. It'll merely be gossip.
"Yes, yes... Enough with the bloody pomp. Have at it!" Robert announces and they part ways. Something inside me just says this one's going to be bloody. There hasn't been a joust in a while but the last time I went to one the mountain didn't kill anyone, that just tells me he's going to try and make up for it. I watch as they speed toward each other, lances pointed, and I feel myself holding my breath. They just barely miss each other, and they turn around and go towards each other, almost faster than the first time. When they make contact I watch the lance go into Ser Hugh, the Cleganes Lance splintering in the air. I watch Sansa stand up screaming. Gasps are heard everywhere, We all watch as he lay on the floor, gurgling, the lance splinter through his neck. I stare are him and I bite my lip trying to keep myself from laughing, gurgling sounds always made me laugh, yet here I am trying my best to stifle a laugh during the dead silence of the crowd. Whispers start to rise as people talk about what just happened.
