Becoming a soldier for the military is a sign of honour and respect for your country, sure. But, of course, it needs sacrifices. emotionally and physically, for everyone who end up joining the military. Some suffer more than others, depending on their emotional strength. Just as me and Yao were about to sign up to the military, there was some talk about another war coming. A huge one, in fact. but we just brushed it off like it was nothing, and just went ahead with signing up. It didn't seem that bad when we were younger.
Ah, how I remember those days: Me and Yao sitting outside our house, watching the soldiers from the military march past, wanting to join them when we were older, Listening to them sing as they marched. How strange that I still remember what they sang to this very day. Very strange indeed.
"Brothers of the world rejoice!
Fight, fight, fight with me.
Raise your gun and raise your voice!
Sing, sing, sing with me.
Down and down into the truth, Who knows what we'll uncover?
Freedom, honour, peace and more
Hidden in the victory.Born as soldiers, taught by great elders.
Raised in the light, the safety of our town and home. Nerves made of iron, hope in our hearts,
To fight and fight makes us free!
Come on brothers sing with me!We are the men of the almighty one.
Mighty, mighty one.
Mighty, mighty one.We are the men of the almighty one.
Mighty, mighty one.
Almighty one."We heard that song every day when we were children, making us want to join the military even more each day up until we were old enough. But, now that me and Yao finally signed up after years of dreaming about it, I think to myself... is this really the right choice?
