Author's Pov:

As Tae stood in the kitchen with an apron tied around his waist, he looked at all the ingredients in front of him with a determined look. He went straight to work, chopping up vegetables and making every dish that he knew Y/N liked. Tae was feeling so rueful and guilty that he shouted at Y/N. Sure, he didn't have any bad intentions, but that doesn't mean he didn't hurt her. His remorse had only tripled when he saw the sanitary napkins in the bathroom after coming home, indicating that Y/N was on her period.

While cooking the dishes, he kept scolding himself mentally.

'Good going, Taehyung. You had three days with her in the office and you've upset her so much when she was already struggling with her periods. Idiot! I hope she's okay.'

After he was done with the dishes and had kept the cake to be baked, he decided to set up the table and decorate a little with candles, the light in a peaceful setting, and soft music playing in the background. He looked at the time and saw it was already 9. He had earlier gotten a text from Jimin saying that Y/N asked Yoon to tell Jimin to tell me that she'd reach home by 9.

Sure, Y/n was still upset with Tae, but after calming down and thinking rationally, she knew that it wasn't entirely Tae's fault either. He was only worried about her, but he still shouldn't have shouted at her like that, so she was still mad about that, but she decided it's better to at least give him an idea of when she's coming home so he doesn't worry anymore. Because no matter how upset she is, she still loves him and knows that he loves her too.

She reached home and had a drained expression on her face because she had no appetite throughout the day and, not having eaten anything other than some chips, she was hungry. Besides, field work is always tiring, so she was exhausted. She wanted some food and was hoping that there was some food left for her in the kitchen.

When she walked in, the sound of music immediately filled her ears, lifting her mood slightly. A small smile adorned her face as she walked in the direction of the music, only to find Taehyung standing next to the dining table with his back towards her. Noticing he was in his own world, Y/N called out his name, "Taehyung."

Hearing his name being called out, Taehyung turned around immediately. His eyes widened as he saw Y/N standing there. At first, it was relief to see her after a whole day without her, but then his pupils dilated further, and he whipped his head down to look at his clothes as Y/N stood there, analyzing his actions with a tilted head.

Taehyung let out a small curse, only audible enough for him to see that Y/N was home before he had a chance to change into better clothes. He wasn't really looking forward to her seeing him in a dirty apron and stained clothes from cooking.

"Oh god...uhm," he fumbled around with his words, hurriedly taking off his apron before giving Y/N a tight hug, which she didn't reciprocate because she was so disoriented. She saw Tae leave her and then rush off to their bedroom, but not before telling Y/N to wait for him.

Y/N stood there, a little shaken, wondering what had just happened. Not even a minute later, Tae started running down the stairs, almost falling down, which made Y/N's eyes almost pop out of their sockets. He came in front of her in a new, clean shirt, huffing lightly but trying not to make it obvious he was out of breath.

"Um...did you have dinner yet?" Tae asked with such a small voice that if he weren't just a few steps away from her, Y/N wouldn't have been able to hear him.

"Uh...no, not yet. I'll just make dinner, then." Y/n said, taking off her bag and moving to the kitchen, when Tae stood in her way, screaming a "no," making Y/n startled.
