The bunny hadn't been expecting to wake up before the sun, but there he was. Laying with the love of his life still cuddled against him, Bonnie blinked groggily. He'd woken up because he felt warm, and it didn't feel like it was from his own body heat.
Looking down to Cecelia, he took notice that she seemed to be shuddering in her sleep. Her skin, and in effect her feathers, felt unusually warm when Bonnie put a hand to her forehead. This wasn't right. "Ce?"
No answer. The bunny gently shook her shoulder. "Ce, Sweet, can you hear me?" The shaking elicited an intelligible murmur from Ce. She finally began to stir. "Hey, look at me." Bonnie quiet asked, as Ce groggily looked up to him. "... mm.... Bun...?"
"Sorry for wakin' you," The bunny began with an apologetic tone. "But you feel a little warm. You doing okay?" He asked, hand remaining on her shoulder. Ce shrugged, leaning against the less-than-plush pillow the couple shared. "... I've... felt better." She answered, a bit of a miserable look about her. "Maybe I should fetch your brother..."
"... no," Ce began, lazily shaking her head in light protest. "... wait 'til th' morning." She asked. Ce then gestured for Bonnie to lay back down. "... stay here, please." The bunny gave a small sigh, tho did as she asked. Ce then snuggled against him again, nuzzling into the fur of his chest. Her eyes closed, as she fell back asleep. "Alright... In the morning."

"Out of bread?" The bear asked, having noticed his brother sighing somewhat despondently. The bright blue bunny nodded, closing the bread box. Fredrick hummed. "I heard Ballora will be going to Ebott again today, I'll see if I can accompany her. The markets there always sell bread."
"You sure?" Bonbell asked. His brother nodded, adjusting the cuffs of his well-worn shirt. (Despite being well-worn, it still looked newer than most other Anthros' clothing). Bon gave an appreciative smirk.
The brothers' attentions were both pulled away from their conversation, when frantic knocking could suddenly be heard from the small house's door. Cutting the knocking short, Bon quickly went to answer. It was Bonnie. He had a mix of panic and worry in his fuchsia eyes. "Hey, what is it?"
"It's Ce," Bonnie began, panting for air a bit as he caught his breath. "She's sick!" Bon blinked. "How sick?" He asked, trying not to worry. "I-It's bad...!" Bonnie answered. "She w-was a little warm and miserable during the night, b-but I just thought she'd sleep it off b-but it didn't g-go away, it j-just got worse and-!"
"Okay, okay, slow down!" Bon interrupted, putting a hand on his friend's shoulder. "I'll get my things and go see her." Turning around to go back into the house, Bon saw the look of concern on Fred's face. Bon flashed him a worried look, before disappearing into his bedroom.
While the bunny grabbed what little medical supplies he owned, Fredrick was speaking with Bonnie. Offering him reassuring words, no doubt. If time had permitted, Bon would've stuck around a moment longer to listen—heaven knows he could probably use them too, having to be the one to say how bad his sister's condition could possibly be.
Returning his focus to the present, Bon pulled his sack closed and slung it over his shoulder. With that, he grabbed his cloak and went back to the front door. "I'm right behind you, Bonnie."

While in the process of checking her temperature, Bon heard as Cecelia tried to say something to him. It came out as nothing more than a mumble. "Hey sis, you're going to be okay. Can you hear me?" Ce's response came in the form of a weak nod. "Good. What're you feeling right now?"
"... h-hurts," Her voice sounded as though it were becoming hoarse. Abandoning that idea, Ce then weakly and shakily patted at both her head, and her throat—indicating the where of her pain. "Okay," Bon hummed.
Standing at the foot of the bed, Bonnie nervously fidgeted with the hem of his own cloak. He'd completely forgotten to hang it by the door on their way in. "How... bad is she?"
"I can't say for certain," The other bunny confessed, taking one of two rags from the bucket of water by the bed. Wringing it out, he folded it up and placed it on Ce's forehead. "Her symptoms, especially how quickly they developed, are really unusual..."
"Can you help her?" Bonnie asked, watching Bon adjust the bed covers over Cecelia. "I'll do everything I can, it's just..." The bunny paused, sighing a little. "Im limited... my resources are limited." He confessed. "What do you need?"
"Medicine, for one," Bon answered, looking through his medical sack. "I don't have much of that left, and what I do have wouldn't treat half of Ce's symptoms." Bonnie's gaze fell, as he slowly made his way to the opposite side of the bed. He sat down and took hold of his love's hand. "Can Fredrick, or even Ballora help you get what you need?"
"I hope so." Bon answered with a shrug. "Their own resources only go so far for the rest of us..." Never breaking his gaze from Ce, Bonnie then said, "None of us needs help more than Cecelia does right now. Please, get the medicine you need, we... I can't lose her!"
Bon could see the blossoming fear amongst the already visible worry in his fellow bunny's eyes. He knew how much Bonnie cared and loved their sister—which was one of the reasons it made him and his siblings happy to see Cecelia with someone like Bonnie. Bon wasn't going to let some sickness take her down, not without a fight.
"We won't lose her." Bon said, mustering as much surety as he could in his tone. "I'm gonna get the medicine."

"Horses are ready to go." Fritz said, leading the second of the two saddled horses out of the small barn. Taking the lead from the fox, Ballora nodded in thanks. Before even getting on, she gave the hazelnut Caspian horse a gentle pet on the nose. "Hello, Cocoa."
"Hey Fred, if Knight gives you any woes I left some carrots in the saddle bag." Fritz told, watching as the bear mounted the black Kabarda horse. "Ah, good to know." Fredrick replied, getting a handle of Knight Sky's reins. "Alright then," Ballora began, getting up onto Cocoa—having worn her more accommodating and flowy dress that day. "I think we're ready to go-"
"Wait!" Someone suddenly called. The three turned to see Bonbell rushing up to them. "Bon? What're you doing here?" Fred asked, as his brother approached him. "Need to... come with... hah...!" Taking a moment, Bon regained his breath. "Can... I come?"
"Of course, but why?" Fredrick wondered, holding a hand out to help the bunny up onto the horse. "I need to buy medicine... for Cecelia." Ballora shot him an odd look. "What's wrong with Cecelia?"
"I'm... not too sure. She just got awfully sick real fast. I'm hoping the right medicine will help for now." Bon explained, getting comfortable on the back of the saddle. "Poor thing..."
"Can we get going now, please?" Bonbell asked, in an obvious hurry. Fred nodded. "Of course." With that, the horses began their trot out of the small town, and towards Ebott.

The ride into town was met with many stares from the humans. Some recognized Ballora and Fredrick, as they came into town weekly on their fellow Anthros' behalves. However, they still got their fair share of glares from other humans. The two Anthros' connections were the sole reason they were even allowed into the human town—Ballora's family having done well for themselves amongst the humans, and Fredrick's family being in possession of great wealth, inexplicably.
"... Do people always stare like this?" Bonbell mumbled to his brother. With a small sigh, the bear nodded. "And this is a good day." He added, glad to see the neutral to anger ratio to be in their favour. "As long as we don't dawdle at the market," Ballora started. "We'll be fine."
"Okay..." Bon muttered. He really didn't like the staring. The overwhelming feeling of being watched. He couldn't explain why, but he hated it. Seemingly picking up on the bunny's stress, Fredrick then said, "The market isn't much farther."

Bonnie had nearly fallen asleep again, when Cecelia's mutterings jolted him awake again. With a few rapid blinks, he glanced down to his love—who he was laying next to. She was still asleep, but still shuddering. That symptom also seemed to have worsened, too.
Placing a hand on Ce's forehead, atop the compress, Bonnie found it to no longer be cold. Sitting up, he took the cloth from off her and dunked it in the bucket again. He wrung it out, before replacing it. Just for good measure, the bunny took out a second cloth to use as another compress. He placed it on her chest, hoping it'd help a little more.
Bonnie took a moment's pause, and simply looked down at Cecelia's sickly appearance. He gently reached to unruffle the feathers on the sides of her head. They'd be ruffled any time she tossed or turned in her sleep. "I wish you'd just... get better." Bonnie sighed, before planting a kiss on her head—mindful of the compress.
