"Snowball, is there a reason you need to give everyone a heart attack every time you make an appearance?" Max growled, baring his teeth. Hopping down from the windowsill, Snowball rolled his eyes and waved his paw innocently as he remarked, "Oh calm down Tiny Dog, I haven't killed anyone yet."
"Youngsters, I think I just had a stroke..." Pops gasped for breath where he was laying on his side. Gidget and Leonard were currently trying to push him back up onto his paws. Looking disappointed on the couch, Chloe muttered, "And yet you're still here."
"Okay, so maybe I nearly killed the old timer. But he's fine! Now, let's get this meeting going!" Snowball declared, rubbing his paws together in anticipation. He really wanted to tell everyone the good news. However, Max blocked his path to the coffee table as he barked, "Snowball, I'm being serious right now! Your actions have consequences!"
"Uh huh, sure. Cool beans. Look, I got something important to tell you all," Snowball pointed out. He attempted to side step around Max but instead found himself face to face with Gidget. A stern look painted across her face, the Pomeranian stated calmly but firmly, "Snowball, you can't just go around acting like nothing is wrong."
"It never ends well. Trust me. I tried doing that to Duke and as a result we ended up with you in our lives," Max added. Standing nearby, Duke nodded his head and chimed in, "He has a point." Shocked by this piece of news, Snowball exclaimed, "Excuse me?!"
"Can we get this meeting over with already? I want to go home," Chloe interrupted Snowball from her place on the couch. Having recovered from his earlier stroke, Pops strolled over to the tabby cat as he reassured her, "Don't worry Rhonda, we'll get started soon. Just waiting on Weiner Dog and Curly Hair." Standing literally next to the old basset hound, Leonard murmured, "Pops, I'm right here."
"Oh. Nevermind."
"Where is Buddy? He's usually not one to be late, despite the fact that he hates some of these meetings just as much as the rest of us do," Gidget murmured. Sitting next to Max, she was clearly talking to him. He was her boyfriend after all. But Snowball could tell that the last part of her statement was directed towards him. He glared at her, ready to say something when Buddy appeared at the window. "Sorry I'm late everyone!" the dachshund called out, "My owner was running late to school."
"Alrighty! Let's get this meeting going already!" Snowball shouted, clapping his paws together. "Great, so what's first up on the agenda?" Max grumbled sarcastically. The white rabbit pointed finger guns at the Jack Russell terrier as he replied, "Getting right to it Tiny Dog." Hopping up onto the coffee table, he smiled happily as the other pets gathered around to listen to what he had to say. And boy did he have something important to say. Puffing his chest out pridefully, he began, "So I overheard some exciting news from my owners today during breakfast."
"Sure you did," Gidget piped up. Flashing a glare at the fluffy white Pomeranian, Snowball resumed where he left off with a big smile, "It is exciting news. You see, I was happily munching away on some carrots my wonderful owner Molly gave me. I was eating while she and her folks got to talking. And as it turns out, we will be getting a new neighbor here pretty dang soon so-"
"We're getting a new neighbor?!" Duke hollered, startling everyone while interrupting Snowball, "That's amazing!"
