"I'll be your friend"

Ugh. I hated parties so much. The sweaty bodies, the alcohol smell, it was disgusting. But, I had been invited to Aubrey's house for a party and I couldn't turn that down, considering that she was the most popular girl in the school. Apparently her parents were out of town for the weekend so this was the only night that she could host a party. After making my way through the waves of people, I sat down on the food-stained couch next to a couple making out. I hated this party. Why was I even here? I decided that I should leave before anything bad happened. As I was leaving, I saw someone out of the corner of my eye who looked familiar. I turned around and gasped so loud that everybody looked right at me. It was Calum Hood. Calum Fricking Hood. How did he get invited to this party?!

Okay. Well, I wasn't leaving the party now. I went and sat back down on the couch again, hoping that Calum would notice me. Of course he wouldn't with all the other girls swarming around him. Suddenly, a big, scary body guard appeared a Calum's side. So much for my luck. But, as quickly as the body guard had appeared, he disappeared and Calum was all alone again. I looked away for a couple of minutes and when I looked back, a tall, tanned body was walking towards the couch.

Calum sat down next to me and I looked away, trying to contain my nervousness and excitement. Calum Hood from 5 Seconds of Summer was sitting down next to me. This is what I had been fricking dreaming of since I was 12. I looked back at Calum to see that he was staring right at me. "Hi, I'm Calum", he said with a hint of Australian in his voice. "Hi, I'm Nicki", I said quietly. I continued to stare at his perfect face, memorizing all the edges and dips. "You know, you're the only girl who hasn't asked for a picture or an autograph tonight!" Calum laughed. I causally but nervously laughed back. "Are you liking the party?" Calum asked. "I guess. I really don't have any friends though", I replied. "I'll be your friend", Calum said.

We exchanged numbers and twitters and I finally asked the question that had been on my mind. "How did you get invited to this party anyway?" Calum laughed and said, "My girlfriend is good friends with Aubrey and she forced me to come. She said it would be good for me to spend a little time without the rest of boys, maybe make some new friends." I laughed realizing that I was that "new friend".
