hello there i'm back after idk- a while. gonna try to write more in the coming months, sorry about the eensy cliffhanger :P.

3rd person pov
September 1st, the first day of year 5. Y/n and Neville are getting a ride from his gran to the platform. As they walk to platform 9 3/4, they pass multiple familiar faces, but everyone grew so much over the months. All of the Weasley's look very different, Hermione as well. As they board the train, They find a compartment near the end. Neville always liked sitting at the back of the train. He said it was for the scenery.

Y/n pov
You packed everything the night before you were supposed to leave. You and Neville could practically share a suitcase with how many clothes you share. You still use your own, though, your books take up most of it. You sat in the front of the train before you met Nev, but you've learned to love the back as well. No one likes to sit near the end, so no one really checks on you much. That just means that you can do things others can't see, with privacy in your compartment.

Neville pov
I always admired Y/n on the train, even before we were friends or lovers. She has always been the most beautiful person in my eyes. The only beautiful person in my eyes. As we sit, close and silent in the train compartment, I start to drift to sleep, but keep my self awake. I close my eyes and Y/n must think i'm sleeping because i feel her shift out from under me and walk out. I feel a little hurt. Has she done this before? Where is she going? Who is she seeing? I actually fall asleep this time. I don't know how long she was gone, but when i wake up, she was sitting back on the seat with my head on her chest. I snuggle closer into her and kiss her cheek. "Good morning sunshine." She says in a warm tone. "I got us some candy. Well, Hermione got us some candy. I stole it from her." Well now I feel bad. "So that's where you went." I say in a tone that sounds a lot ruder than I meant it to sound. She makes a small frown. "I just thought it would be a nice surprise for you to wake up to is all." She says, moving a little farther away from me and out from under me. I fucked up. Big time.

Y/n pov
You don't know why he is being so rude about your gift. Why does he care if you got up during the long ass train ride? He doesn't own you. You contemplate this while you listen to your playlist through your headphones, ignoring him looking sad in his corner of the compartment. Soon enough, the train had arrived at Hogwarts. Everyone grabbed their bags and walked to the boat launch. You hear speeding footsteps behind you. Neville catches up to you. "Please forgive me my flower. I'm truly very sorry, I didn't mean to sound so mean." He says while handing you a large bouquet of wildflowers. You grab the flowers from his hand suspiciously. A smile grows on your face. "Meet me in the library after the ceremony." He nods and you continue on your path to the boats.

3rd person pov
The ceremony gets boring after the first year when everyone realizes it's the same speech, same layout, same everything. because of this, people don't really pay attention. Neville and y/n pay some attention - between touches under the table.

Neville pov
I want to see the new Gryffindors, i really do, but since y/n told me about the library, it's all i can think about. staying with my gran all summer, there wasn't much time for, well, you know *wink wink*. the ceremony is always about 45 minutes long, and it's only been 10. longest 45 minutes of my life. the worst part of this is that y/n isn't even giving me attention! 30 more minutes now.

y/n pov
You didn't really get so angry that neville got jealous, it was cute and you barely *did* anything all summer. you need him. you're sitting next to him and all you can think about is ripping his clothes off. that's why you can't look at him, or, talk to him, or touch him ;). there are a few new Gryffindors, they seem cool. you decided to tell nev to go to the library because who is really going to go to the library on the first night of school? exactly. no one, maybe hermione. the ceremony is coming to an end. everyone is finishing their plates and the professors are dismissing you to leave.

3rd person pov
y/n takes neville's hand, practically dragging him up to the library. when they get there, they go all the way to the back. the back is different than rest of the library, the chairs have cushion, and the bookshelves make a sort of cave around said area. it's the perfect area for studying~, intensely.

okay so i don't know if anyone still really reads these but i'm sorry for being gone so long.
