...

(Y.name) stared intently at her phone, her anxiety palpable. Each passing second felt like an eternity as she waited for a reply from Miles.

Cop's Kid

(N.name):
Hey, you okay? Haven't heard from you in a while.

Her mind was a relentless storm of worst-case scenarios. The possibilities of something terrible happening to Miles seemed to play out on an endless loop. Yet, she wrestled with the nagging thought that she might just be overreacting.

"Hey," Gwen's voice cut through her anxious thoughts. "You know, staring at your phone like that isn't going to make a miracle happen, right? So, just relax. I'm sure he's fine, safe and sound wherever he is."

(Y.name) managed a small, grateful smile at Gwen's attempt to comfort her. "Thanks," she replied, though her worry remained.

They were sitting in Foam Party, a popular café with a quirky, retro vibe. The clink of coffee cups and the hum of background chatter provided a comforting contrast to the tension between them. The café's walls were adorned with colorful foam art, a reminder of the place's name.

"Let's finalize our plan so we can get going," Gwen suggested, her tone firm and purposeful.

"Yeah," (Y.name) agreed, her smile growing as she glanced at her friend. Gwen's presence was a grounding force amidst her swirling thoughts. Just as Gwen turned her attention to their plans, (Y.name) felt her phone buzz with a new notification.

Cop's kid:
Hey. Sorry, I've been busy working on a school project. I'm good, just didn't notice your text. Thanks for checking in :)

Relief washed over (Y.name) as she read the message. He seemed normal enough. Still, she couldn't shake the unease that had settled in her chest. She scrolled through Peter's files, her focus shifting to the task at hand. Thoughts of Miles lingered, but she knew she had to push through.

As she and Gwen continued discussing their infiltration strategy, (Y.name) realized she had been so preoccupied with getting back home that she hadn't fully grasped the reality of never seeing Miles again. The irony wasn't lost on her-she had initially tried to avoid him, and now she was consumed with concern.

"Hey Gwen, I think I've got something," (Y.name) said, her voice eager to distract herself from her jumbled thoughts. "It looks like Alchemax hires multiple high-profile scientists. We could disguise ourselves as one of them. It might make our job easier."

"Yeah, but how exactly?" Gwen inquired, raising an eyebrow.

A thoughtful silence fell between them as they brainstormed. "I think I've got it!" Gwen's eyes lit up as she explained her idea.

"Really, Gwen? Come on, even you know that's never going to work," (Y.name) said, shaking her head skeptically.

...

"I can't believe this works"

Hours later, the two teens, now donned in glasses and lab coats, strode confidently down the sleek, white corridors of the prestigious technological campus. The fluorescent lights buzzed softly overhead, casting sharp shadows on the polished floors.
