Not all things always are what they appear to be and I personally learned that the hard way The night that had completely shook my whole foundation of what I had always view the world to be. Maybe that's why I was able to sense the lone figure approaching my apartment. I'm pretty sure it isn't the Chinese food that I had forgotten to order earlier. My gut just told me it was way somethign way more hostile than that. My senses on full alert now I begrudgingly stepped out of the tub. A bubble bath too, which was supposed to be a treat for myself after successfully taking down a crazed werewolf apparently, from terrorizing some popular campsite.

Slipping on my bathrobe, I silently made my way out of the small bathroom, consciously noting that the person advancing was closer now, almost by the door. Carefully, I headed out towards the living room which would lead to the front door. I stopped for a bit by one of the nearest table and reached under to grab the hidden glock. I cocked it back, not bothering to cover up the noise. By now the person should have already know or at least sensed my presence. I wouldn't really expect any less from a Shadow and considering who their up against they shouldn't underestimate me either. I pressed myself up against the wall that was strategically hid me out of sight to the intruder. As I planned, it's also perpendicular to the door making it perfect for the preemptive strike.

I took a breath to steady my self and waited. A loud crash came from the front and it took me a moment to realize the crash was the door itself. The asshole kicked my door down! Now that the presence was closer, I could tell that it is definitely a Shadow. By the weight of its stride he was also most definitely male. Now for the element if surprise, I crouched forward slightly and sprung rolling off the wall, I immediately fired at the intruder, the rounds going off in rapid, consecutive shots. All I was able to see was a blur of red and fang as the Shadow hissed in pain at one of the bullets the pierced his shoulder. The other bullet had managed to only skim past his face to quickly heal.

The next couple of moments were all but a blur. Which really tends to happen when your battling a vampire and their preternaturally enhances speed and strength. In a flash the Vampire was already at me. Expertly side stepping his attack, I backed away into the living room. I unloaded more rounds at the red headed vampire. Some in which he managed to dodge, except for one that had hit and lodge itself in his knee. That had only got him to stop mid stride as he proceeded to wedge his hand to remove the bullet.
