"So, what did the bastard say?" Gu Wei asks, as they enter the elevator. He watches Chen Yu sigh and give him a side eye. "What? Yu'er?"

"He says, ' My dear Detective, I concede to your wishes. No more Shakespeare, no more quotes. I won't harm anyone, for now. But I can't let him go quite yet. You see, he's helping me ready our love nest. I need, a test subject. To be sure you'll be comfortable here. Let our game of cat and mouse, officially begin.' Ugh... he even drew hearts. Like a teenage girl in the throes of her first puppy love." Chen Yu places the note on the island and sits down, his head dropping into his hands.

"Yu'er." Gu Wei sounds as if his heart is breaking for his husband.

"You know, I'm not really afraid of much." Chen Yu says, feeling Gu Wei sit down beside him and pull him close. "Aside from needles and losing you, there's not much that scares me." He looks into Gu Wei's sad and concerned eyes. "But this twisted fascination with me? It's, unnerving." He sighs, pulled into Gu Wei's arms.

"It's okay Yu'er, to admit your afraid." Gu Wei kisses his cheek. "We're all afraid of something. I'm terrified of losing you." He squeezes his eyes closed momentarily, taking a deep breath. "You can let the fear cripple you or, you can use it." His voice gets stronger, more steady. "Use it, to keep yourself sharp. Make that fear, into a strength. Once you own it, it becomes a part of you and you can turn it into anger. Something that will fuel you, push you through difficult times and make you stronger. Don't let him win." He kisses Chen Yu's forehead, watching him nod sadly. "Come on lao gong. Let's go relax a bit."

"You're right baobei. I won't let him win and I won't cower." Chen Yu says, following Gu Wei through the bedroom and into the bathroom.

"Of course not. My Yu'er, he never cowers." Gu Wei grins, starting bath water and turning to undress his husband. "My lao gong, he's definitely no coward. He's a hero. He is justice and he always stops the villain."

"I love you baobei." Chen Yu says, now standing naked and watching his husband undress.

"I love you too, my Superman." Gu Wei says, stepping into the tub and reaching for his hand. He raises his brows, Chen Yu stepping in to sit between his thighs. "Yu'er, you okay?"

"Mn. Just, hold me like this for a bit?" Chen Yu asks, his head leaning back on Gu Wei's shoulder and his husband's arms holding him close.

"Any time you want or need them, my arms are always ready to hold you lao gong." Gu Wei says softly in his ear. He slowly and gently begins to massage Chen Yu's neck and shoulders. He kisses a broad shoulder, wishing there was more he could do. "Yu'er, how can I help lao gong? How can I help you be more at ease?" He blinks, Chen Yu grinning softly at him and rubbing the back of his hands.

"You're already doing it baobei." Chen Yu says, sighing and relaxing into his husband's gentle embrace. "You're here. You're holding me and standing beside me. You're giving me strength." He snuggles back deeper into his husband's arms and his eyes become heavy. "I love you." He murmurs, drifting off in Gu Wei's arms.

Chen Yu wakes up feeling groggy and confused. The last thing he remembers is feeling a quiet calmness wash over him, like a gentle spring rain. Now, he's laying in bed and dim sunlight is peeking through the curtains. He's laying on his side and he feels tender warmth all along his backside. He starts to turn, wanting to see his husband, but feels a long arm pull him back. A kiss is gently placed on his bare shoulder, another on his exposed neck.

"Morning Yu'er." Gu Wei whispers, his voice soft and low. "You sleep okay?" He trails kisses along Chen Yu's neck, waiting for an answer.

"Mn, I did. Did you have to carry me to bed baobei?" Chen Yu asks, a bit embarrassed. He grins, feeling Gu Wei nod against his shoulder. "I'm sorry Wei. I guess, things kinda stressed me out more than I realized."
