I got to science class five minutes early to finish a worksheet on cells that I had neglected last night. Sliding into my assigned seat I took out my folder and produced the half empty paper. Scribbling furiously, I managed to complete the worksheet with one minute to spare. I sat back up and jumped. Anthony Young was sitting right in front of me, staring.
"Holy crap you scared me." I said with a nervous laugh.
"Sorry, I should have said something." He smiled.
"So how long have you been sitting there?" I asked.
"About two minutes."
"And you were just watching me?" Creepy much, I thought.
"Yeah, your face makes really funny expressions when you concentrate that hard." He said.
"Glad to know I can be amusing to peers." I laughed.
"Just a little." He joked. "But you didn't finish the worksheet I'm assuming."
"Yeah, I had a boatload of other things to do. So why did you come to class this early?" I asked.
"I always come to science early." He stated.
I nodded my head. He struck me as the none early type. But whatever.
Just then students started to trickle into the classroom. Anthony popped a piece of neon green gum into his mouth."Gum?" He asked as he held out the package.
"Are we supposed to chew gum in class?"
"No, but can't a guy just offer some gum? You don't have to eat it right now."
"Um sure." I grabbed a stick and shoved it into my pocket.
Mr. Green, our science teacher, stepped into the room. Anthony turned around to face the front. Sighing, I rested my chin on my hand and stared at Anthony's back for the rest of the period.

"He did what?" Bri asked.
"Yup," I sighed as I flopped onto my bed.
"He totally likes you. Like I mean no guy just offers you gum like that."
"Really?"
"Really. And not to be creepy but he did stare at you for two minutes straight." Bri stated confidently as she flipped her long hair over her shoulder.
"You're right." I said as I got up to get dressed for my lesson.
"I think I see love in your future!"
"Stop!" I laughed.
"What are your kids names going to be? Bri Jr.? Because I would love that!"
"Ok, that's too far!"
"Hey! I could paint you guys!"
"No!"
"Or how about...." Bri smirked.
I gasped." You're sick!"
Bri fell on the floor laughing.
"I'm leaving. Good bye!" I said as I closed the door. On my way to the stable, images of Anthony swarmed my mind. Oh love, why did you have to do this to me? I have so many other things that are more important than this. But he wouldn't leave my mind. Why did I take that gum?
