Dear Isa,
This how I started my day.
———
"Kassie!" Jesus Christ. You called me down four times already why not just have me stay down there! "Kassandra DeVula!" Are you shitting me Delilah? Again for the fifth time? Bloody hell. "Alright! Alright! I'm coming. I'm coming." Kass yelled, walking downstairs to see what Delilah wanted from her again.
"What do you want from my life, Del?"
"Mr. H wants to see you. Good luck."
Shit. What'd I do now? I didn't do anything wrong, this time at least. Is it about a foster parent or parents thinking of taking care of me? If it is I'm screwed.
Kass knocked on Mr. Harris' office door. "Enter Kass." Kass entered the office, playing with the strings of her hoodie. "Mr. H, you wanted to see me?" Mr. Harris looked up from his paperwork. "Yes. I do. As you know today is meeting day, so I've arranged for you to meet people at 2:35. Okay?" Kass' mouth hung open in shock. What the hell Harris?! I explicitly told you that I don't want to meet foster parents anymore. But does he listen? Nope!
"No way in hell am I doing that again!" "Kass—"No! I'm not fucking doing that shit again!" "Kassandra Marie!" "What?! What the hell do you want from me?!" She yelled her hair now in her face. "Calm down. Breathe love." Mr. Harris said placing his hands on her shoulders. Kass took a breath in then out, attempting to calm her anger before she does anything stupid. "Now I have seven people wanting to meet you. Three foster parent couples and one single foster parent, do you think you'll be able to to manage this for just once? Please? I won't make you do it again." He states.
"Swear on it." Kass said, glowering at him. "I swear." He placed his hand on his heart. "On my life. I swear. Now go get ready they're coming in half an hour." Mr. Harris finished and let go of Kass, going back to his desk and went back to finishing up his paperwork. Kass nodded and walked out of his office.
"Delly! Bitch you are dead!" Kass yelled coming in and throwing a pillow at Delilah. "WTF Kass! What did I do?" "Foda-se cadela." "Hé! Langue! Je suis ta petite amie et je dis pas d'amour maudit" "Whatever. You freaking lied to me cadela!" "Kassandra Marie! Watch your mouth! Remember I'm older than you mon chéri." Delilah says coming towards Kass, lifting her chin, forcing Kass to make eye contact with her. "Apenas por um ano adorável." Kass looked Del up and down. "A year is a long time petit morveux. Don't do something you're gonna regret." Delilah finished her words with kissing Kass on the lips, throughly.
They broke the kiss before it got too heated. "Mr. H signed me up for four meetings today at 2:35, so I have... five minutes! Shit!" She exclaimed running to her closet and hurriedly got dressed. "Bye love! I'll see you later!" She kissed Delilah on her cheek and left their room.
"Good luck Chéri!"Kass ran downstairs to see Mr. Harris and three couples standing in the lobby. Mr. Harris turned to face Kass, "Ah, here she is. Kassandra, I would like to meet Fredrick and Rachel Tulo. You're first meeting is with them." Mr. Harris said, gesturing to the first couple to his right.
Fredrick and Rachel... they were well...interesting people, to say the least. They were in a cult or what seemed like a cult to Kass. They just wanted her to be a member of their cult and marry her off to some old man and make her a child bride. They weren't the right fit for her.
"Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Tulo for visiting. And I'm sorry for her reacting so badly. Come back next time." He says then turned to face the other two couples. "Reid and Danielle Sach. You're next." He said.
Reid and Danielle were nice people, very polite, but they cannot stand each other! Reid kept talking shit about Danielle's weight. While, Danielle was telling him about how his mother is the most toxic bitch on the planet. Mr. Harris had to come in and calm Kass down because she had a panic attack. No way in hell does she want to live with these people.
"Mr. and Mrs. Sach thank you for coming." Mr. Harris said guiding them to the door. The last couple was next. "Mrs. and Mrs. Kupalo you're the last couple." Mr. Harris said to them.
The last couple were Alexa and Ellie Kupalo. They're a gay couple who have been talking about wanting a kid but they didn't want a baby or a little kid, so they decided on a teenager. They were perfect for Kass. But Mr. Harris had to ruin it for her. Because they didn't finish their foster parent training class.
"Thank you for coming but you cannot foster until you finished your training. But thank you anyway." He said and guided them out of the building.
"Is that it?" Kass asked plopping down on one of Mr. Harris' office chairs. "Yes. Unfortunately the single foster parent hasn't come. He was very excited to meet you. It's sad that he couldn't make it." Mr. Harris said, typing away at his computer. "Then...can I go back to my room?" Kass asked. Mr. Harris looked up from his computer. "Uh, yes, I suppose so." He said.
Kass left his office. She started to walk down the hallway to get to her room but before she could turn the corner she was stopped by this.
"Hey! Are you Kassandra DeVula?" Kass turned around to face who supposedly was the last foster parent. He had promising facial features, but what caught her eye was his eyes.
They were blue.
Extremely ice blue.
"Pretty eyes.." Kass pants in awe. "Uhh what?" He asks. Kass' eyes widen when she realized what she said to the ice blue eyed man in front of her. "Shit. Fuck. Crap. Oh shit sorry!" She apologized to him. "I just saw your eyes first and thought they were pretty. Sorry about that I was staring at you weirdly." She apologized again, rubbing the back of her neck.
"It's fine. I get it a lot actually. I'm Tyler Olivo. You're Kassandra right?" Tyler asks. Kass nodded still a bit embarrassed at what happened a few minutes ago. "Yea, I'm Kassandra, but call me Kass." She said, sticking her hand out for Tyler to shake. He shook her hand, "Nice to meet you Kass. I'm sorry I was late. There was a lot of traffic on the road. A big car accident. T-boned cars. One on top of the other." Tyler said.
Car accident? T-boned? Memories. Bad, bad memories of how she ended up as a foster teen. Tyler noticed her expression, she was scared and looked to be freaking out. "Hey are you okay?" He asks. Kass started to bite her lip and pick at it. She didn't answer his question and just stared at him, which creeped Tyler out. Kass was dissociating, and Tyler didn't know that; he just thought she was zoning out. Then she fainted.
—————
"Kass? Kassandra? Hey!" Mr. Harris snapped his fingers in front of her ear in attempt to wake her up. Kass' eyes slowly opened for her to see Mr. Harris crouching next to her and Tyler sitting on a chair across from them. "What the hell happened?" She asks.
"You fainted." Mr. Harris said bluntly. Kass looked at Tyler, who was looking extremely guilty about mentioning the car accident in front of her. "I'm sorry Kass. For making you dissociate and faint." Tyler apologized. "It's fine Mr. Olivo. It's normal for me at this point." Kass said crossing her arms. "Oh Kass, please call me Tyler." Tyler said, stood up and looked at Mr. Harris.
"So...is there paperwork I need to fill out?"
"Wait. What?!"
