Chapter 1

How'd you like the prologue? Now you know how Gou met Sachiko and Isuzu. Years have passed, will Gou recognize her childhood friends? Are they the same as they were before? This chapter is written by blazinraisins Hope you enjoy it!

Gou's POV

I find myself staring. It's the first day of high school, and I'm miraculously early. The front of the school is nearly empty, save for me and a few others. There was a single girl that caught my eye. This girl seemed oddly familiar, sitting all alone and I find myself straining to remember who she was. Her bangs were in her face, making it that much harder for me to identify her. It wasn't until a girl, older than the both of us, jogged over that I realized that this has happened before. The younger one smiled and gave the older one a hug. I took a step forward, prepared to go over and talk to them, when she pointed over at me and said something to the other. They nodded, and turned towards me, walking over.

"E-Excuse me..." the younger of the two said timidly. She had short, straight black hair, with a single yellow streak running through it. She also had beautiful mint green eyes.

"Are you by any chance Gou Matsuoka?" The older one took a more direct approach. She had long, curly brown hair and brown eyes with a hint of red. I nodded and they visibly brightened up.

"Oh my gosh! Kou-chan! It really is you!" The black-haired girl gushed, grabbing my hands and practically jumping up and down. I raised an eyebrow.

"Um, I..."

"Kou-chan, it's us.." the brown-haired one chimed in, with a small smile. "Sachiko and Isuzu.", she said. When she said their names, I remembered the similar situation around 7 years ago in elementary school, on October 13th..

***Flashback***

"I'm Gou Matsuoka! You can call me Kou, though! I'm nine years old.", I told her, holding out my hand for a shake. She seemed surprised, but smiled, shaking my hand nonetheless.

"My name is Sachiko Kawada! I'm nine years old as well.", she told me. I got even happier when she said she was nine. By that introduction, I knew I had made a new friend. I smiled as we talked about our lives. I told her about Rin and Sosuke, who were apart of the swimming team. In return for the information, she told me about Isuzu Tsukume, the girl she was waiting for right now. They've been friends since they were little, and Isuzu is ten like Rin and Sosuke! Expect she doesn't do swimming. According to Sachiko, she's a more artistic person rather than athletic. I was sad when she said she didn't have a cellphone. Then, I heard a voice calling out.

"Sachiko!!", they called. We both turned our heads in the direction of the voice, and saw a girl running towards us. She had long, curly dark brown hair, and reddish brown eyes. I guessed that this was Isuzu. She reached us, panting slightly. "Sorry, Sachiko! Ms. Watanabe needed some more help then usual. I apologize for making you wait longer.", she said. She looked at me, and smiled. "Oh, who's this Sachiko?", she asked kindly.

"I'm Gou Matsuoka, but call me Kou! I saw her alone so I decided to wait with her.", I told Isuzu. She smiled.

"Thanks for doing that! I always walk home with Sachiko since we live near each other. I'm Isuzu Tsukume.", she said, holding out her hand, which I gladly shook. "We really have to get going.", she said. Quickly, she grabbed my other hand and, using the pen tucked behind her ear, scribbled something on it quickly. She put the pen away, and they started walking away.

"We see you later, Kou-chan!", they called as they left.

"Bye Sachiko-chan, bye Isuzu-san!", I called back. I looked at my palm, seeing numbers and two words.
