"Chapter 1"

-At the Party-
Valentina's Pov:

I was with my friends and my brother behind a wall at a party. I'm already done with high school and I didn't go to college.

I know I'm 20 and friends with a bunch of high schoolers but they are pretty mature for their age unless sometimes but they cool.

We were all waiting for Cesar to come back with the beer he went to go get.

I was on my phone while they were looking over the wall looking for cesar.

Cesar got back and gave us all a beer.

"Thanks" I say while opening it and going to stand next to cesar.

"Take it in. This is about to be us. This is high school" Cesar says to them.

"bruh high school is not just " this" high school about planning your future you know I want you guys to get out of here not just staying in freeridge" I said to then giving a parent talk a lil.

"Val didn't you not go to college?" Monse asked me.

"yeah but that's me I'm talking about you guys don't worry about my future" I say.

"Ruby you think your brother's gonna marry angelica?" Mines asked him.

"No ideas Mario tells me jack. what bout you Val?" he asked me.

"He don't tell me nothin" I say to him taking a sip of my beer.

Jamal starts laughing. We look at him. " what about that time he said angelica had a dangler?" He says

We all laugh a little. Ruby just sighed at him seeming to be a lol mad.

"But he said it" Jamal says.

"In private!, time and place dude" Ruby tells him.

I roll my eyes at them. I'm basically the "mom" of the group only because I'm older.

"Oh, guys, check out Huerita at nine o'clock" ruby says.

We all look to see her dancing with her friends. I don't like her me and her have beef.

"Monse if you were a girl--" he says still looking at her still.

"I am girl." She says making my laugh at little.

"Yeah but if you were a girl like that would you wear underwear?" Ruby says.

Monse just sighed taking a drink of her beer.

"That bitch can suck my pito" I say to them talking about Huerita.

"why?" Cesar says to me as the rest just look at me.

"Her and I got beef. She got mad because I stole her man in sophomore year she said she wanted to fight me and we did but for someone who talks shit she can't fight for shit" I say to them and they look at me weird.

"wait is that why you got suspended for two weeks?" Jamal asked me. I nod at him.

we go back to looking at the party.

"oh my god, I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die." Jamal says panicking.

Monse looks at him and leans in saying "Why are you gonna die?" She asks him.

I look at him confused.

"Those guys play for the ridge. Did you know that last year over a quorum of kids--" he says but gets cut off by monse.

"Died playing football? Your stuck on repeat. So, don't play." She says to him.

"No choice my pops was a legend. Its family tradition" he says before saying. "I'm dead."
