Loneliness...was the only thing I felt on the hospital bed. I was diagnosed with respiratory cancer, I was 23 years old and I only had five months to live. I worked at an office as a desk worker with a low-income salary. The book that I read kept me at ease, I had no one to come visit me except for my parents. Years ago before the current present day, My parents and I stopped talking to each other because they didn't want me to be in a relationship with someone who treated me like crap and that he would apologize for his behavior every time. I'm not gonna say his name because who cares about him? I ran away from my house at the age of 18 after I graduated from high school. But every time of course I forgive him because I thought it was normal. After all, we have known each other since childhood. He was my childhood crush and we started dating. We both went to the same high school and went to the same college. I wanted to study to become a nurse by going to an out-of-state university. But my boyfriend didn't want me to go to an out-of-state university. He insisted and begged for me to go to the same college as him where he was studying business while he wanted me to study something else. Like computer science...just why!
Little did I know, he showed his true nature. I was dumb and naive. I was the outcast of my school days and I had one best friend that I thought wouldn't lie or betray me. Well a month ago before I was notified about my cancer by my doctor, I was chilling in my living room while my boyfriend showered. Yes, he and I moved in together in a small apartment after my parents told me not to see him anymore because he brainwashed and manipulated me into thinking that my family and my friends were in the way of our "love". I was wrong that they were in the way, he made me feel that they were wrong. As I was watching a Netflix show at around 8 o'clock pm. I heard his phone buzzing on the couch.
Back then I thought it was wrong to not look through his phone. But out of curiosity, I did. I knew his password because my boyfriend trusted me. I thought it was a text from his friends or his family members. I saw messages from an unknown number on the app Messenger. I looked through them and I was shocked. It was messages about my boyfriend flirting with an unknown person. Funny enough he would call the person pet names. I scrolled through the messages and they have been talking for about eight months.....I heard the bathroom door open and I quickly exited the app messenger. I turned off his phone and left it on the couch cushion. My boyfriend came out of the bathroom with changed clothes on. He was drying his hair with his towel. He went to the couch to grab his phone. He asked if anyone called him or messaged him today. I replied that he didn't receive anything. Of course, I lied. I didn't want him to know that I looked through it and that he would yell at me about it. I got anxious that he maybe was cheating on me for the sixth time...yes you heard me. He cheated on me five times with other girls from around the world. I don't know if he managed to talk to other girls at the same time from around the world without me or any of his family or his friends knowing. I wanted to find out the unknown number that he was messaging to along with talking to the person by calling them pet names.
I waited later that night for him to sleep. I pretend to sleep on my side of the bed. Yes...we did share the same bed and slept next to each other. I know..gross...as he fell asleep, I then got up, went to his side of the bed, and reached over to grab his phone from his nightstand. I quietly sneaked out of the shared room and went to the kitchen. I sat down in the chair from my kitchen table. I opened his phone again with the password he gave me. I read through the messages of
