Revenge ?

" Cleo Paine" i should have known my name would become troubled someday

i grew up in a broken home. my mom passed away when i was 7 and i was forced to live with my father and my half siblings.

My father was knowned to be a business man he had a really successful company And my half brother Leo was gonna be the successor.

ever since I moved in with my father  i grew close to my half brother Leo, he was 3 years older than me and was my hero and protector especially when my father would get a bit violent but i still loved my father because he never meant to hurt me he was just stressed because of work and never hesitated to apologize or spoil me rotten.

A part of me always felt that he always saw me for my mother It sounds weird but when I turned 16 he would sometimes call me by my mothers name Clarissa by accident. They were divorced when my mother passed but I can't help but wonder if he still loved her.

my half sister Lia was only 4 years older than  me but she was sent away to a boarding school at the age of 13 and when she returned at the age of 19 she was married away because it was good for my fathers business.

even though i was surrounded by violence and my fathers scary guards who btw never smiled i felt very pressured and felt that I HAD to do my best because I felt like I didn't belong even though my father showered me with lots of love it all changed when my father passed away when i was 19. i was sad for a few months but later i started feeling more free and so did my sister she divorced her husband and moved back to the city with me and my brother and we were reunited and we started living normal lives, being more free and doing what our haerts desire.

speaking of hearts desire i met josh well i kinda already knew him since him and my brother were close but anyway i like him but im too shy to do anything about it but this story is not about my whole love life with him so if you came for that than your wrong.

ever since my father passed its just been us 4 and i like it like that.

Ever since my father died our living conditions changed.
We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. I don't mind the change even tho we do live in a violent gang drug based neighborhood But hey it's not my first time being around violence and did I mention I'm a Latina even though I'm only like 40% latin it's whatever anyways back to the story

I hear a knock on the door, I open to find

"Leooo" I jump into my brothers arms after his return  from leaving overseas for business
" my princepes" he smiles and hands me a box of donuts
Leo decided to move in with me since he didn't want me to live alone in such a dangerous neighborhood even though my sister Lia lives on the next floor above us.
" I have to go see some friends to say hi since I'm back but I will see you later, I won't be long"
"Ok bye stay safe"

About 1 hour passes

Laying upside down on my bed scrolling through my phone with wired earphones in my ears I hear someone screaming from the front door

" CLEOO!!" I get up from my bed and run out from my room and look through the door window to see my sister Lia .

I open the door

" heyy I'm here to leave your dinner "
" aren't you joining us for dinner ?" I ask as she puts the food down on the kitchen counter and finds her way back out the door
" no I have somewhere to be "
" is it a date?" I smirk asking standing at the door
" No" she says with a serious face
" Ohk then bye have fun"

I flop down on the couch and open my phone

Josh

Hey where are you and Leo

We are busy we will be home in 10

Ok ... Lia isn't joining for dinner just so you know

I don't know why but I always had a weird suspicion that josh liked my sister idk why but they just gave off this vibe that's why I never bothered telling josh about my feelings for him but anyways

I sit and wait for them to get home because I don't wanna eat alone plus josh said they would be home in a 10 min

20 min pass and I fell asleep

* door unlocking *

"Look who passed out already" Leo says as he walks In. Leo then walks towards me and picks me up and takes me to my room and tucks me in.

" good night princess" leo says

I woke up at 6:00 am and walk out my room into our small living room looking at the uneaten food and as I walk over to my brothers room across the room I open the door and he's not inside

Then I hear someone snoring and I walk inside to find josh laying on the floor next to the bed passed out. I can't help but let out a soft chuckle .

I walk out the room to the living room and open the balcony door that leads to a small balcony and look at the sunrise

after a few min I feel a hand covering my eyes

" josh" i say
" how did you know" he asks
"Because you are the only one in the house"
" right"
" btw where is Leo"
" umm he left somewhere for work"
" so early ?"
"Yeah"

" oh and felix natalis amor" he smiles and comes in closer for a hug
( translation- happy birthday love )
" thanks" we hug for a minute and I actually really needed the hug
" also when did you learn Latin" I ask surprised
"when your best friend is a latino you learn a few things"

My day started off good, too bad it didn't last
