"It's freaking 10:30pm Randhir. Why haven't you started yet?" Parth bellowed from the other side of the call.

"Areyyy yaaarr... now don't behave like my wife. I'm still in office just to avoid her scoldings and now you are taking her place" Randhir expressed his disinterest and streched his limbs out of tiredness.

Parth and Randhir have been best friends from college and now they work for the same multi-national conglomerate, in decent positions.

"Whatever it is... now get the hell out of there and go home. Sanyukta is alone and must be waiting for you. She must be worried." Parth reasoned and Randhir huffed in return.

"Sanyukta and worry? Bhai... she won't worry. She is my worry" Randhir complained like a kid with a crying face.

"Parth... you know what?? I should not have got married. In fact, no men should get married. Marriage is the world's deadliest punishment one can get" Randhir started his chain of advice and Parth knew it was time to cut the call.

"Bas bas bas... now stop your gyaan and please go home" and with that Parth disconnected the call without letting him finish his complaints.

With no other option left, Randhir wearily collected his laptop and belongings and moved towards his car. The ride back home was quiet and peace. He knew he wouldn't be able to find the P of Peace once reaching home.

It was already half past 11. He parked his car in the garage and tip toed inside the mansion. He wished she had slept. But alas, like every other day, she was there sitting on the dining table glaring at him for coming late, yet again. Randhir passed a stupid smile in return, not knowing how to react.

"Is this even the time to come home?" Sanyukta stood up and walked towards him and stood right infront of him with her arms crossed.

"Do you even remember you have a wife?" She added as she collected his lunch bag from his hand and handed over a glass of water to him which he gulped in a go.

"Randhir....what do you think of yourself haan? Do you think your company will sulk without your hardwork? It won't.
I'm a working professional too. Am I not equally prioritizing home and office? Why can't you do the same thing?" She continued without a gap.

This. This was the exact reason why Randhir hated coming home. She would start her endless arguments and complaints and make him regret his decision of marrying at such a young age.

Randhir kept quiet. Because he knew that the moment he opens his mouth, she will be all the more aggressive. He nodded his head for everything she said, with his eyes admiring the floor. Sanyukta understood that there was no use advicing him and sighed.

"Go, freshen up and be back in 5 minutes. Meanwhile I'll re-heat the food for us" Sanyukta instructed and turned towrards the kitchen.

"But I had my dinner already" Randhir murmured fearing another outbreak from her.

Sanyukta turned back to him in disbelief and was about to say something but chose not to.

Here, she was hungry as hell. She was waiting for him to come home so that they can have dinner together. But he was least bothered to even inform that he ate. She stared at him for a split second and dashed into their room and called it a night, ditching her own digestive system in the process.

Randhir sighed in relief as he escaped yet another outbreak of the night. He tiptoed to the bedroom and slept on his side of the bed, ensuring that there was atleast a kilometre of space between them.

This has now become the routine of the once "fun-filled and romantic life" of Randhir and Sanyukta.
