Chapter Four: Raven

After the darkness came, I dreamt that I was in a forest, one with dead trees and leaves as red as blood on the ground. She heard something behind her so she turned around and looked in horror. "Flame!" She hissed at the brown tabby, his amber eyes staring at her emotionless. "Hello dear." I hissed again, this was the cat who threatened to kill me if i didn't become his mate! But then Millie saved me. Even if she is a lazy bum, She is a killer.

"Stop trying! your dead!" i screamed at him. "Well that may be, but I have taken over Ace, he works for me now!" he laughed. This cat was insane!! I looked at him, about to cry. "why?!?! I loved him! You monster!" He just chuckled. "Oh, he will be your mate. You can have him. go ahead. I encourage you."

I knew something with up. "I cant now. He is contaminated with your evily-ness..." I wondered if that was even a word, but that's not important right now. "You will fall for him eventually!" he spat and walked int the darkness. My dream changed from a dark forest to a flowery meadow. I saw a black andf grey cat sitting on a rock, I walked up to her and smiled "Mother!" i started to cry. "I haven't seen you in forever! I thought you died!" she nuzzled me and i breathed in her scent. It reminded me of when i was a worry free kit. Not a 'hunt or be hunted' life... "shhhh... don't cry. you have done so much and i am very proud oif you!" she looked at me, i swear I could see stars in her pelt... "Me and our ancestors have been talking.. and we have decided to give you something only cats dream of!" I gasped "You mean?..." i started "Yes" she interrupted. "Nine Lives" we said at once.

"For this life i give you love. To protect your Friends and to choose the right cat."she walked away.

My uncle came up next. "For this life i give you strength,use it defeat your enemy's and defend your Friends" he walked, just like mom.

My little sister, who died as a kit was next. he hopped up to me saying "For this life i give you energy! So don't run out of it in battle, or when doing hard tasks! Make me proud!" she said and hopped away.

The next cat that padded up to me bringing back so many memories.... Ones that had been locked away in my mind vault for so long.... One of my best Friends in the world.... Her name is Sarah. "For this life I give you Trust. It is okay to open up to others. But do make sure you know them well." Without another word she padded off.

One of my moms best Friends came up next. She gave me Happiness. She said that you could find it in the strangest of places... huh. I wonder what that meant....

Millies brother gave me Endurance. For when I fight battles, to take as many hits as possible. A cat that had helped my mom kit was next, I didn't quite remember her name... She gave me hope, "Find the warm light in the coldest of winters."

Then a big,bulky golden tom with orange stripes padded up to me, my big brother Lightning! He gave me truth.

For the last life, a cat i didn't know walked up to me. He touched noses with me. His scent was oddly familiar.. "For this life I give you Bravery. Never back down from a challenge. Ever" With that he just padded off. My mother padded back up. "We hope you use these lives well. you may wake up now." She said. Then I woke up and walked to a nearby puddle. on my right cheek were eight starts in a circle around one bigger star in a lighter black than the rest of my pelt. It was barely noticeable. I don't think anyone would notice unless they were up close. As I took a drink of water, I realise something and was so shocked I spat the water out into some bushes. The tom that gave me my ninth life.... Was my father!
