June 6, Unwelcome Guests

Sua returned home with the extra salts and soybeans her grandmother needed. She went back to her room shortly before her friends arrived to change into more appropriate clothes to make food in. A funky easter shirt and some floral work pants would do.

About an hour later, she hears the sound of the front gate rattling outside, indicating that the ladies were here. Not wanting to seem rude, she rushed out to the front to help them unload large pots and baskets chock full of beans.

She was putting a big brown pot down in the yard when she heard one of the ladies yelling into her car.

"What a disgrace! The ladies have helped before my Grandson has, hurry up and go!"

She didn't pay much attention to it and just continued her work. She turned back to pick up a basket of beans when suddenly they were lifted from her grasp.

"I'll take it."

Sua looked up and almost choked. It was the boy she saw on the street earlier.

"Oh thanks, just place it next to the table.."

He nodded begrudgingly and trudged away across the yard.

His grandmother came to Sua's side and smiled brightly, "That's my grandson, I promise he's politer usually."

"CHOI BEOMGYU!"

The boy whipped his head behind him and came trotting back towards his grandma.

He gave Sua a look that she couldn't quite read and then turned his attention to his grandmother, who scowled at him.

"Introduce yourself properly! It's only right after you leave her to do all the heavy lifting."

Sua huffed awkwardly and offered her hand, "I'm Min Sua, Nana Mae's granddaughter."

He took her hand coldly and looked away, "Choi Beomgyu."

Sua nodded and gave a small smile, "Well it's nice meeting you Beomgyu. Im sure i'll be seeing you around?"

"Sure."

He turned on his heels and walked to a far corner of the yard to sulk in.

Sua just watched him from afar while she helped prepare ingredients and clean pots, all while he just sat and watched them work.

"Geez whats wrong with him?"
