Someone needs to report me to FPS (Fan Protective Services), because I have abandoned you guys for MONTHS and that is not okay. Although, I could be honest with you and say my computer broke as it is true, the piece of crap broke, but thats not excusable because I have a desktop. I just prefer my laptop. Anyway, the cute guy at the apple store has fixed my child and it's also summer so I am going to dedicate my summer to updating this book because I do have big plans for it!
I enjoy writing this book a lot and I hope you guys enjoy reading it. So once again I am sorry but I'm back ;)
Chapter 6
The thing with first dates is this: they either fail or they succeed.
At this point I honestly couldn't tell. The car ride there was dead silent for the first five minutes.
"Where are your parents?" Hunter asks obviously trying to break the awkward silence sitting between us.
I cleared my throat. "Um, they live over in L.A., with my handful of siblings."
My diaphragm relaxed as a big breath of relief zipped out of me. This was good, small talk is good, gets the night going.
"Right and you're over here because?"
"Oh, city life is not for me. My mom lived here up until college and her best friend still lives here, so I decided to live with her." I explained, my hands fidgeting in my lap.
He flicked the blinker on before turning. "Wow, I don't think my parents would ever let me do that. My dad's ex-marine and my mom's very old fashioned, I move out when I start college and that's that. Pretty cool, your parent's let you do that."
"See my parents are really chill about everything I do basically. They're the exact opposite of old fashioned, if you didn't know us you'd think I was the responsible adult in the house." I chuckled. "They're teenagers at heart."
"Lucky, my parents ride my back like a horse."
"Eh, sometimes having strict parents is better than not. You learn more. Not saying my parents have no rules, they just understand what it's like being a teen."
The corner of Hunter's lips twitch and his eyes smile. He glows.
"Wish I could say the same. Are you hungry?"
I was going to answer with a no, but at that moment my stomach decided to betray me and growl like a dog. My cheeks flushed and I shrugged.
"A little?"
He laughed. "I can tell. Our movie's not on for another thirty minutes we can grab a quick bite at the Chinese restaurant in town?"
"Oh, I love Chinese! Ever had moo shu?" I spark up. Most girls enjoy and good slice of pizza, maybe two, but nope. I had an unsurpassable, unquenchable, unexplainable love for Chinese food.
"Nope, but I'm guessing it's good, New China it is."
So maybe this night isn't going to be as bad as I thought.
"That is terrible!" Hunter spits out the pile of moo shu I previously shoved into his mouth. My mouth drop to the floor in shock.
"What?! Oh no, this date is over, how can I date a guy who doesn't like moo shu?" I drop my chopsticks into my carton and throw my hands up.
"I mean, it's not bad, but it's not good. The chow mein trumps it!" He dives back into his carton of noodles and moans in pleasure.
"The chow mein? Ok now you're really going to have to take me home. Worst. Date. Ever." I grin and stare at Hunter as he chuckles. It's so natural, his laugh, like he could just laugh all day.
