TW: Michael cursing.

Being a work at home mom in the summer was quite eventful. Claire loved seeing her kids throughout the entire day. But other times, a break was most definitely needed.

The lady was only human after all.

Her kids were a bit more on the rowdy side today and were also quite intolerable.

"Kids, I'm going to rest for a bit. Please, don't fight."

Her sons responded compliantly:
"Mhm. Sure, whatever Mom."
"Yes Mommy!"

"Mom don't leave us with Mikeeeeey!" Afton's daughter complained.

Claire exhaled, "Just a half-hour or so, Elizabeth."

Elizabeth whined and complained loudly, doing a poor job at persuading her mother.

Michael was easily irritated. He strode towards his sister and picked her up from the shins so that she hung upside down like a bat. Her blue skirt fell over her face and her long white shorts were revealed.
"AGHHHHHH! MICHAELLL! PUT ME DOWN, DUMMY!" she screeched shrilly.

Michael swung for momentum then threw her onto the blue sofa, "Nope. Let mom sleep, Eliza-bitch."

Claire was too tired to lecture Michael's bad mouth. She was also thankful for his help. As she left for the master bedroom she could hear Beth's persistent crying and C.C. offering to play with her.
After pulling the door to be left slightly ajar Claire fell into the bed. She was mentally and physically exhausted, but sleep wouldn't meet her any time soon. One sheep, two sheep, bear, bunny, chicken, fox...y the pirate. Yeah, her mind definitely wouldn't rest.

She sat up to look around her room. William's ties were strewn across the floor. She understood he was rushed this morning, but he couldn't even care to push them aside? Automatically she got onto the floor to pick them up, but something in the closet caught her eye.

Her dance shoes. It had been a couple days since Claire last danced since she taught kids in the neighborhood. Slipping them on then starting music, she danced. This was a 'Swan lake' type of song, since Claire adored Ballet.

Mrs.Afton got so in-the-zone, she didn't notice her children peeking through the door.

"Wow." one of them whispered in awe, making her aware of their presence.

"I can hear you," she told them, making them flinch.

"Sorry mom, I told them not to-"

"It's okay Michael," she reassured, "I'm not mad, the song is over now anyway."

"Mommy, we're kinda...bored," C.C. told her.

"Okay how would you like to..." she thought for a bit, "...surprise daddy at work?"

Their eyes widened excitedly, "Fazbear's?" She nodded which caused the younger two to cheer as they ran to the door.

"Can I see foxy?" Mike asked her quietly.

"If he's not out of order."

~a drive to fazbear's later~

When they arrived at Fazbear's, there was a police car parked outside. Strange.
"Excuse me, miss," one of the officers called to Mrs.Afton, "Have you seen a blonde girl, this tall, around the age of 8 and goes by the name of Susie Poach? Or possibly a medium sized white goldendoodle?"

She raised her eyebrows, concerned, since Susie was one of her ballet students, "No, I haven't seen her today. What's going on with Susie?"

The cop exhaled, "Her dog was reported missing and not long after she was too. Both were last seen here."

Her heart sank, Susie was a sweetheart, "What do you think happened?"

"She could've gotten lost looking for her dog, run away, been kidnapped, or possibly... killed," the police woman listed, her voice dropping with each possibility, "If you come across anything, let us know."

Claire was too shocked to speak, so she just nodded.

She just noticed Michael and the kids weren't near her. Back at the car, Michael was cackling at their window where Beth and C.C. 's door was stuck on child lock.

So many stressors today; Claire was exasperated.

Walking into the establishment they were met with the smell of grease pizzas and cheap party decorations. But the life inside wasn't the same.

In place of buzzing conversations, laughter and animatronics singing there was an offsetting feeling of discomfort and ominosity in the slight chatter and whirring robot sounds that could no longer be masked by just the music alone. Her children seemed to notice too.

"What the fuck is going on here?" Micheal muttered, still unaware of the situation.

C.C. gripped his mother's sleeve and Elizabeth was all the more oblivious. The girl was more concerned about why the animatronics were only dancing, why they weren't singing, or where chica was.

Claire instructed the three to just hang out in the arcade for a bit or chat with other kids. The younger two of her children went for the pinball machine, and Michael found his friend with the bonnie mask to talk with. Claire never really approved of those rude friends of his, but if their bond was that strong, (signified by their masks) then she'd let it slide.

Susie's mom, Mrs.Poach, was crying at a nearby table with Mr.Poach next to her saying anything to calm her. Claire strode quickly through the restaurant to find William or Henry.

"Hi auntie!" Charlotte Emily called. She was a small three year old with dark brown hair in a cute blue dress. The girl toyed with a different version of the stage bunny named Theodore.

"Hello Charlotte," the woman greeted absently, "Have you seen your father? Or Uncle Will?"

"Hmmmm..." the toddler hummed, thoughtfully tapping her chin with a small finger, "Oveeerr... There!"

Claire whipped her head in the direction the tot pointed to see William in his signature purple blazer being thoroughly questioned by a large policeman.

Briefly patting her niece's head she left to consult her husband. His eye bags were deep and he was covered in mechanical grime. He massaged his temple and scowled with each question shot at him.

"...Officer, I've told you all I know. May I leave now? I am quite exhausted from my work today fixing that idiotic yellow bird and its cupcake. If I'm to be kept here any longer I am going to swing an ax at it in frustration," the purple guy seethed through gritted teeth.

The officer sighed and took note of what the owner said and left, nodding politely at Claire when they crossed. Mrs.Afton grabbed her husband's hand which startled him from his angry emotions. His face softened though, happy to see his wife, "Claire," he grinned, completely swaying his attitude.

"Will, what's going on?" the woman whispered.

His expression hardened again, "Nothing. I've not a clue. Other than the fact that your student and their dog is missing."

"Mhm... Susie."

He chuckled, "Let's not worry too much about it. They'll probably find her sooner or later."

She examined his face, concerned, "I'm guessing you couldn't fix the chicken?"

William froze slightly, but then gave a crooked smile, "No. Henry left earlier in his own fit; he has to come back for Charlotte. But I couldn't figure out his robot either. So I just stuffed her with some new parts... she'll probably be fine soon."

Claire nodded, "If that's the case. Then I guess, everything is alright."

William agreed and his attitude brightened, "Yes. 'Alright.' ...home we go."
