14. Lunch box

Aakash was looking down, deep in thoughts, he was blaming himself. He felt his hand shaking and held it with another one. The sign was not good, not at this time. Aakash flinched when he felt someone kneeling down infront of him.

Ray-" tu ghar kyu nahi gaya aaki, itni raat ho gayi hai."

Aakash looked at him. He was going through so much emotions, somewhere his heart wanted to be held and hear comforting words but that was impossible... Aakash stood up from there making ray standing automatically-" I had night shift. Isliye.. umm, fir mai bas round pe tha to.. hm round pe tha isliye yaha aa gaya. Bohot log the yaha. Only two person can stay here, tell the rest of them to go home."

He said and was about to go but ray held his hand-" did you ate."

Aakash-" I don't have appetite."

Ray-" let's go."

He said and dragged him from there. They reached at the canteen. Ray forcefully made him sit there and went to get the food for his family including aakash.

Aakash sat there looking down, that was so awkward, the silence could cut through the glass.

Priya tried to made conversation-" how have you been aakash?"

Aakash nodded silently. He would've left but something in him stopped..

Priya tried again-" um. You must be happy, you became a doctor that was your dream job right?"

Aakash looked at her with fury eyes, he was about to say something but ray came there. Aakash stopped himself, he would not like if he will say something bad to his family.

Aakash looked at tray, it had simple homemade dinner. Full healthy mean but not for those who have eating disorder. Aakash sighed, when the person is starving the food look more appetizing but he couldn't eat that.

Aakash-i really can't eat ray, can you please give it to somone else, your family must be hungry too."

Ray-" kuch khaya bhi nahi hai tune. Roshan ke sath hi tha tu pure time. There's no way you would've eaten."

Aakash mumbled-" I just don't want this food be in waste."  He faced ray. " Dekh, agar mujhe bhook lagi hoti to mai kha leta but I really don't want."

That's when his stomach grumbled becuase of hunger, aakash looked down embarassed, always the wrong timings.

Ray hesitated- are you not comfortable with us. It's okay you can tell me, if it is so."

Aakash looked at him, ray never left him with choice-" yes I'm not, I don't like to eat with you specially your family. They just suffocate me."

Ray looked at him with tearful eyes. Aakash stood up and left from there, he badly wanted to. Ray's family always made him nervous. They were intimating and his father had beaten him to respect them.. that's the thing he didn't liked, why did he had to get those beating to respect them. Since then aakash always thought that they are not worthy to his respect.

Aakash was going to his office it was not the time to go home. He thought to rest in the office till morning and after that he will deal with the next day.

Aakash was about to go when akansha saw him. She was at nigh duty.. she was looking at him going but something in her told her to approach him. Akansha walked towards aakash but when she saw him, she gasped in shock.. the boy was looking so pale with dark circles. For how many days he didn't slept.
