A/N: despite one of the characters being non-binary, they will be referred to with feminine terms like bride, wife, and lady because they are not out of the closet at all.

Ally and Rayne, the princesses of Arivelle. Always destined to be married to the crown princes of the Antarctic Empire. Ever since they were born their parents had planned this. They had been raised for this. They had been taught everything they'd need to know about the boys and the castle and their royal duties. But most importantly they were taught exactly how to greet the king and queen when they arrived. The exact degree of the bows. The exact resonance of their voices and they greeted the royal family in unison. Everything. And yet as their carriage pulled up to the castle, they couldn't help but be nervous.

Wilbur was the first to be ready in his royal regalia in the morning. He was nervous and pacing around the castle. He couldn't help himself from imagining what his future wife would be like. He couldn't help himself from pausing after every note he played. Wilbur was nervous. Ever the hopeless romantic, Wilbur hoped and prayed that despite the marriage being arranged he would find love with his bride-to-be. Wilbur was nervous. His stomach did backflips inside him. He could almost feel his breakfast come up as the carriage pulled up to the castle.

Techno was up earlier than his brother but instead of his royal regalia he was dressed in his armor. And he was fighting every new recruit he could find. He wasn't stressed. He was prepared to do his duty, for his nation. But Techno couldn't help himself but feel sorry for the poor soul that he could never love like a husband is supposed to love his wife. Techno new he was different. But he couldn't find a way to describe it. He was not a hopeless romantic like his brother. And he couldn't imagine being in love like his parents were. Techno felt his heart sink ever so slightly as the carriage pulled up to the castle with two lovely ladies awaiting him and his brother.

Phil and Kristin. King and Queen. Lady death and the man who made her fall in love. Throughout the empire stories of them spread like wildfire. They were destined to meet and fall in love in every universe. But now they were slowing. And they had their heirs. But their heirs needed heirs. So they agreed to the arranged marriage. They knew it wasn't the best idea but their tipping point, the way they knew this was what they wanted, was when Kristin pointed out that if they lived at the castle they could make sure the twins were safe. So they arranged the marriage. Not just for political reasons but to make sure these girls who were raised to marry their sons were safe. And as the carriage pulled up they were thankful that it was a warm day.

Tommy. Little Tommy who looked up to his older brothers and tried to follow in their footsteps while also remaining true to himself could not have been less interested in the new arrivals at the castle. But he still got dressed. He still ate breakfast with his family. And he still stood outside under the sunlight and in the cold snow that was melting around his warm smile. As the carriage pulled up to the castle tommy rolled his eyes but he still stood proudly as he his family greeted the new arrivals.
