I hear the a door slam, not giving a care I walk down stairs to see what is going on. Looking around the house I can't find mum or dad, so I check if they are out side. I open the back door, revealing the golden paddocks and fresh winter air, I walk out side to find my parents screaming at each other. Of course it was about something stupid like dad leaving the toilet seat up or mum not cooking dinner for me, because she was too busy. Personally I don't mind, I can take care of myself but dad still thinks I'm a little girl, when really I'm 16.
Mum and dad notice me standing there, and they immediately stop yelling. I could feel the awkward tension between them, so I reverse my steps and closed the door behind me. Walking into the kitchen I grab a bowl and a spoon, I place them both on the dining room table as I hear the back door open. I peek around the kitchen counter only to see mum walk in with the perfect hand print on the side of her face. It happens a lot, I'm not saying it's okay or anything but I'm just use to it. Mum was silent as she walked upstairs, so I go back to what I was doing, choosing my breakfast. I end up grabbing Coco puffs, with a glass of orange juice. I finish my breakfast as fast as I could, so I didn't have to face my Dad. I clean up my mess and race upstairs to my room.
I know I won't be doing anything today so I just chuck on my baggy black tee, with my ripped denim shorty shorts. I walk into my bathroom to brush my hair and teeth, I grab my hair brush and start to release all of the knots in my brown wavy hair. I then grab my tooth brush and mouth wash to freshen by breath. I hear a smashing noise, coming from down stairs, it was probably just my mum in the kitchen, so I shrug it off. I walk out into my room and over to my bed, as I see something out of the corner of my eye. I turn around in shock, soon realising it was just my dad.
"Hi Daddy," I say as I pull my baby blue cotton bedspread off my bed.
"Hi Farren, how are you this morning?" He asks, walking over to help me make my bed.
"I'm good." I say, pretending I didn't notice the mark on mums face.
"Okay, thats good, well I'm heading into town today," he replies as we place my pillows on my bed.
"Sounds good," I reply, while gazing out my window.
"Well, I'm gonna go now." He says, stepping backwards to my bedroom door.
"Okay, bye dad," I say.
Five minutes later I hear dad yelling. "Bye! I am going into town now." Dad yelled, it echoed through out the house. There was no response from mum, she must be giving him the silent treatment.
So I replied instead, "bye dad!"
This was getting annoying, one day they are happy and the next they are fighting. It happens a lot, but I just don't get why they are still together, I would be fine if they split up and I wont be surprised if they do, they are obviously not happy together. The only thing I'm worried about is what am I going to do if the do get a divorce. Who am I going to stay with, and where will they take me? I am worrying too much, I just need to relax and get over it.

I walk down stairs to find mum sitting on the couch watching an old movie, it's in black and white so it will probably bore me. I sit down next to her, she looks at me with her sad eyes. I have noticed lately that she has been sad, so now I am going to find out why.
"Mum," I say quietly.
"Yes Farren," she manages to say.
"What were you and dad fighting about earlier?" I say, expecting her to react in a weird way.
"Talk to your father about it when he gets home." She says in a more firm voice.
"Okay, sorry mum," I reply.
