The Divorce

Ring ring,

I hear the phone downstairs, I race to answer it before mum got to it.

"Hello?" I say.

"Farren, is your mum there?" Replied a voice, "it's your farther."

"Why would you want to talk to her?!?" I snap.

"Farren, calm down and put your mother on." He said in a firm voice.

"Mum!" I shout "phone call for you!" My voice travels through the house.

"Coming!" I hear a voice shout back.

She comes downstairs, running towards a the phone. I hand it to her as she gets into the kitchen. I walk off but only into the living room so I can hear what she is saying.

"Yes," mum says.
"Okay," I hear her say.
"My pleasure," she says just before she hangs up the phone.

She walks into the living room and sits down on the couch next to me. "We have to go into town," she says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I have to go to the court house." She says with a little smirk.

I knew what was coming, it was finally happening, they are getting a divorce. This could possibly be the best day ever. My only worry is what's gonna happen to me.

That's it, it's over, they are divorced and neither of them want me. Neither of them signed the paper for me to live with them. I'm a burden, no one wants me. I'm a waste of space, I may as well run away, no one will miss me.

My thoughts were broken my mum waking into my room, "Farren, you need to start packing, dad is having the house and I am movie else where."

I look up and her and nod, "where am I going?"

"You are going to live with your God Parents." She replies.

"Okay," I manage to squeak. I don't even know these people, I don't know where they like, I don't know if they have kids. I don't know anything about them.

"So get packing," mum says, seeing the pain in my eyes.
