CHAPTER 3 MINE

Veron's POV

I was nervous scared even. I've been here with Alpha Jack and Luna Bell for 4 years now I've trained to become a alpha and become the new alpha of this pack because they did not have a heir, they weren't able to. I call them mom and dad.

I'm 21 now I haven't found my mate I can't wait to meet her I'm a straight male and the Moon Goddess above knows this. Once I find my mate she will be the Luna and I will be the alpha. I have short dark curly hair, piercing blue eyes, and I'm tan. I would say I'm absolutely breath taking and im good with the ladies.

In a week I would take up the alpha position. My new mom and dad (the Alpha and Luna) wanted me to go looking for my mate before I do. They were about to send me to a new territory in 2 hours to find her. To say I was nervous would be a absolute understatement.

I walked outside wanting fresh air enjoying the smell of the outdoors as I began to walk towards the woods. I never would have thought that everything would be so different than it was 4 years ago. I still wonder if I would have stayed and protected my family would they still be alive? I had just shifted when the attack happened. I couldn't do much because I was not trained to be nothing more than a husband to my future mate.

I guess things take a wide turn when everything you've ever known comes crashing down in less than a minute. My parents weren't what I would call good and loving parents but I still love them with everything in me even when they treated me poorly. I learned that love is unconditional even for those who have hurt you. I think I know what love is although I've never felt it. I've never actually been with anyone except once.

I sigh sitting on a huge rock near the river in our pack. I find that it's quite peaceful and calming to the body and soul. I get up from the rock and start heading to the pack house. When I get close to it I start feeling on edge like I might find something I'm not ready for. As soon as I get in the pack house I'm met with my top warrior. He bows at seeing me.

"James", I acknowledge him and he stands straight
"Alpha we caught a rogue just out of our territory trying to get in she claims she is not one and she ran away from her pack.", He said seriously
"Take me to her", I state simply just bored.

As we walk towards the dungeons I feel uneasy. As soon as we step in I smell it, the most intoxicating scent ever Cherry blossoms and Jasmine. I growl lowly and push my warrior aside not caring and I start walking where the scent leads me. I see her, my beautiful mate sitting chained to a wall with silver and beaten. I growl loudly and she looks up at me scared "who did this to her?", I say dangerously calm.

"S-she came in like this A-alpha", one of my warriors said. I looked at my mate. "Who did this to you?", I said surprisingly soft. "I-it wasn't t-them", she said softly enough for me to hear. Her fear was evident.
