"I can't guarantee any reward or recognition" Colonel Hyrum Graff, he was a man that was respected by many, and fortunately was the commander for Dark Eagle.

I looked at him still at parade rest. "Sir I never signed up for the rewards or recognition."

He looked away nodding to himself.

"You know you were voted to become a Team Lead?" I was surprised "Sir?"

He looked up at me with a smirk across his face.

"Every single TL on the mission voted to promote you, and all of the others as well. It would seem you made quite the impression."

I couldn't believe it, there was no way I got a unanimous vote.

Hyrum grabbed a packet on his desk. "Here is your other reward."

I looked at him, I must have had a weird look on my face. "I didn't organize this; the gift is from that mobster that you saved. At least I assume so since there is no way any of the guys could afford it."

He motioned for me to follow him as I read the packet. The first page was a note.

"Hello, dead man, you should know who I am. It was a bitch to find anything about you but with a little cash, anything is possible. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the gift I've sent you; my daughter was the one who picked it out.

She told me how you gave her hope and I thank you for that.

You should know that this is my daughter's gift. My gift will be my honor, if you ever find yourself in a bind just call the number at the bottom and it will be done."

The letter was signed by L

Leon is a very dangerous man, but one that has helped the spooks a lot. The only thing I did was talk about riding motorcycles with Anna. There was no way I was going to date a 19-year-old let alone the daughter of a mobster. However, I like to think we became good friends.

Apparently, very good friends as I looked at the packet behind the letter. It was a title for a new in-crate BMW R 1250 GS Adventure. And from the itemized list it had every conceivable add-on.

From the light package to black anodized aluminum hard cases.

I then looked at the final price.

$ 29,080

A ridiculous amount of money.

It looked amazing in the triple black paint, how Anna had come up with this I have no idea, I don't think I ever mentioned my dream bike

Luckily whoever had dropped it off and taken it out of its crate. The luggage cases along with a brand-new riding ensemble were sitting on the ground.

The golden spoke wheels contrasted with the black nicely. I was still kinda in shock, I have never owned such an expensive single item ever.

My V-strom 650 had served me well and if not for this would have been my only bike until it gave up the ghost.
