Monday Training

Today is the first day of training and I'm buzzing, I'm so excited. I decided to wake up early and I quickly went into the shower while everyone was still asleep and got ready for the day.

I decided I'd make breakfast for the girls today as a celebration of game week. Yes, yes I am in fact that excited that it's finally game week. Our first game is going to be this Friday.

I decided to make American pancakes cause I was really craving them for some reason. I got all of the ingredients out on the counter when Viv came down. 

'Ooo what you making?' Viv said scaring the living daylight out of me.

'Ahhhh' I shouted in reply while holding my chest.

'Sorry, I didn't mean to make you jump,' Viv said in the nicest way possible.

'No, it's OK I just didn't notice you came down. I thought I'd make American pancakes.' I replied.

'Why are we shouting for,' Beth said coming into the kitchen still half asleep.

'Sorry,' I apologised. 'Viv scared me. I'm making American pancakes, would you like some?' I asked.

'Ooo, pancakes sound good.' Beth replied.

'What makes the pancakes American?' Viv asked confused why I'm calling the American pancakes instead of just pancakes.

'They're fluffier than other pancakes.' I replied. With this, they left me alone to cook.

I decided to play some music while I cooked. I put my playlist on shuffle and the first song to come on was Confetti by Little Mix.

ingredients 

- 200g self-raising flour

- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1 tbsp golden caster sugar

- 3 large eggs

- 25g melted butter

- 200ml milk

- maple syrup.

I decided I'd also make bacon to go with it.

Laura still wasn't down here when I had finished cooking so I thought I'd go up and make sure she was awake and if she also wanted some. When I knocked on her door there was no answer so I slowly opened it and poked my head around the door and I could hear the water of her shower running and her single Hurt People by Gryffin it was cute so I decided I'd just leave her be and she'd come down when she was ready. 

'Beth, Viv breakfast is ready' I said walking into the living area and as I did they stood straight up and came and sat at the table. 

'Where's Laura?' Beth asked 'Isn't going to have some too?'

'Yeah, she's just in the shower,' I stated while grabbing myself a plate having made myself hungry while cooking it. 'Do yous want anything to drink I asked going to the fridge to get myself some orange juice.

'No, I'm alright for now' they both said simultaneously. As they said this Laura walked in.

'Mmm, what smells good.' She asked making us all giggle a bit.

'Pancakes and bacon, do you want some?' I replied still giggling a bit at her comment.

'Mmm, yes please.' she replied grabbing a plate.

'These taste great Sarah, you're officially on breakfast duty.' Beth said while putting food into her mouth causing me to laugh a little.

'I'm OK with that.' I said happy that they all enjoyed it.

SKIP TO PRACTICE.

We got there pretty early before quite a few of the girls so we just went into the miggle room, as I like to call it. It's just a room where we girls can relax together in between training etc.

When most of the other girls had arrived we all went into the heated boot room to collect our boots then went into the changing room and got ready. 

'Let's go,' Kim said and we all followed her out of the changing room onto the pitch.

'Alright girls gather around' Jonas said causing us girls to gather around. 'first of all as many of you may know we have a new teammate, Sarah, please make her feel welcome. I know most of you have. Second of all, we gonna do a RAMP warm-up and then the main session is going to be on passing after that we'll do a 30-minute small-sided game and then a cool down. Does that sound alright' he said causing everyone to say yes or just nod. 'Alright let's run a lap of the pitch.'  

(RAMP stands for Raise, Activate, Mobilise and Potentiate)

I was one of the first to finish the lap and once I did, I just collapsed to the floor to catch my breath, I'm not unfit but running with a football at my feet kills me. After everyone had done the lap we did some squats to activate and mobilise our lower bodies then we did some quick sprinting between some cones to prime our nervous system for speed. 

After we finished warming up we got a 3-minute break to get a drink before we did some passing drills. We did simple passes and lay off by the middle players, and then we added more by running diagonally while still doing the same passes.

After about 30 minutes we got put into 5 aside teams in a mini-competition.

Teams:

Non-bib team - Manu, Steph, Leah, Lia, Beth, Sarah

Pink bibs - Kaylan, Rafa, Noelle, Kim, Lina

Green bibs - Jen, Lotte, Viv, Jordan, Caitlin

White bibs - Katie, Laura, Mana, Frida, Stina

Game 1 - Non-bibs VS Pink & Green VS White

Game 2 - Non-bibs VS Green & Pink VS White

Game 3 - Non-Bibs VS White & Pink VS Green


We're currently my team is currently playing the pink team and the game ended 4-0 with Me scoring one with Steph assisting, Beth scoring one with Leah assisting and Lia scoring two with Beth assisting both.

We then played the green team and again won 4-0. This time, I scored twice with Beth assisting them both, then Beth scored one with me assisting and then Lia scored one with Leah assisting.

Lastly, we played the white team and we won 4-3. I scored one with an assist from Beth, Beth scored twice with an assist from me and Lia, and then Lia scored the last one with an assist from Leah.

We ended up winning these games and got a picture taken with a mini trophy.

We then cooled down and went home. It was a great training session.

Like Beth said I cooked the breakfast for the rest of the week. On Tuesday we had overnight oats, on Wednesday we had Air fryer bacon and on Thursday we had some Norwegian custard buns Friday was game day so I only ate some fruit. I get nervous on game day so can't eat much.
