CHAPTER SIX
Are You Dead?Lorelai walked down the street with her head hung low, the flickering street lamps were dimmed. She walked past a guy who wore a black leather jacket, with blondish hair and a trimmed beard. He was a spy, most likely one that worked with tech, gear or engineering, maybe a field agent. And since she was the only one from Eclipse to observe IMF agents and their mole hunt, she had a feeling he was with the IMF.
It wasn't raining much anymore, but Lorelai was okay with that. That meant she didn't have to wait forever for her combat boots to dry off when she'd step inside of a building.
Her baseball cap was hiding part of her face from any surveillance cameras there were in the area. The black leather jacket didn't stick to her skin, the air was cool in Prague. She saw the guy from before walking up to her, which made her sigh. She'd either have to fight him or just intimidate him.
Lorelai rounded the corner as swiftly as a fox, nearly losing him off her trail, but he managed to catch up to her.
"Who are you?" He interrogated.
"Doesn't matter." Lorelai answered in a fake Irish accent. Ranford had her practice different accents, so she sounded pretty close to a real one.
"I asked—"
"I know what you asked, I just don't give a shit. Besides, I don't have to answer to you." Lorelai reasoned, about to walk off.
The guy grabbed her forearm, a little harsher than anticipated by both of them, Lorelai quickly twisted her arm and kicked his cubital fossa. He groaned in pain.
"Who are you?" She countered his question towards her.
"Jack." He replied, somewhat intimidated by her. "What are you a secret agent or somethin'?" He asked her.
"None of your damn business." She told him, although they both knew she was.
"I'm guessing you're not with IMF." Jack breathed out. "Come on." He motioned for her to follow.
"To answer the question: no, I'm not with IMF, nor will I ever be. And no, I'm not gonna just follow some spy who walked up to me and demanded to know my name, and who I kicked." Lorelai rambled.
"Fine. But, I'd watch out for the cops if I were you." He advised, nodding over to the police boats on the water near the alleyway. When she looked back at him, he was gone.
When they saw Lorelai, and thought she looked suspicious, they steered their police boats closer to the pier, then chased after her. Lorelai's eyes widened, then she sprinted down the streets like a comic book character would be able to do.
She managed to lose them about halfway, but she remembered the wounds she got from yesterday, and she started hurting when she stopped. The blaring sounds of the sirens indicated that they were still trying to find her.
It started raining a little more as the night went on. Lorelai snuck around buildings and alleyways and she found a large building in which a gala or party was being held. Why did everything have to happen at a gala or huge fancy event? She glanced around, making sure no one was paying attention to her, and they weren't. Lorelai ran, jumped onto the side of a building beside it, then onto a ledge on the gala building. She climbed onto the ledge and onto the roof to watch through a piece of glass for observing.
