Patrick Walker was a normal sixteen year old, or at least he thought. Patrick had an ability that no one else he knew had, he was a dimension hopper. He had to visit alternate dimensions. It was bizzare for him, but he knew that it wasn't something he had a say in. Because if he didn't visit a dimension already in a month. His powers will bring him to a dimension unknown to him. Without his consent, no preparation. Just boom, he's in another dimension just like that.
Patrick sighed. Then rubbed his eyes a bit.
"Come on, I gotta go!" Patrick stated.
Patrick was inside a bus. He had to go home, school was over and he had to get home now.
"If I don't get home, I'll be screwed! I have places to go! People to see!" Patrick ranted.
It usually didn't take long for his bus to get done dropping people off. But today seemed... different. Extremely different.
Patrick had that feeling... that feeling that he was going to vanish into another dimension like usual. Patrick shook up a little bit. He knew something was going to happen.
"Oh GOD!" Patrick said in his best Jack Black impression, "Please no!"
Suddenly, Patrick and his backpack vanished without a trace, Patrick faded from this dimension.
The transition between two dimensions was like drifting off to sleep. Patrick's vision closed to a dark pitch black, seeing nothing.
"Damnit!" Patrick said. "I always hated this."
Patrick didn't know how he got transported, he just did. The void seems so bizzare to him.
Patrick was going to say something but he couldn't, he then knew that the transition was about to end. His eyes were getting heavy, he yawned a song of confusion. He knew it was over... for the transition at least.
He eventually appeared in an ancient looking city.
He landed on what he assumed was an alleyway of a Roman city. The kid looked around, confused as usual when he's in an alien dimension.
"Ok... this seems different." Patrick stated, he stood up with his backpack and looked around. "An ancient city was unique. Let's see what this dimension is about."
Patrick walked out of the assumed alleyway, and what he saw was many ancient Romans.
Many of them were walking around, buying food and item's, playing various games Patrick didn't understand, and many other things.
Patrick seemed confused for a bit. This place looked like Ancient Rome. But there were some differences Patrick noticed from the Roman Empire he knew.
Roman merchants were selling coffee, which wasn't discovered by the Romans in Patrick's timeline; some Romans children were playing handheld video games. But something caught Patrick's eye more.
Patrick saw a Roman soldier, he wore the average Roman uniform. But it looked way more futuristic. The armor had some plates made out of metal, it fully covered the soldier except the face. It was a cold sight seeing this soldier to Patrick. But something surprised Patrick even more. The Roman had a gladiolus sword, its handle made with a solid dark blue steel handle, with a blade made of a pure green laser, which glowed in the Roman's hands.
Patrick was surprised, he widened his eyes. This was bizzare to see.
Patrick walked closer, he was slow and calm so he didn't startle the Roman soldier he saw. He eventually stood right in front of the soldier.
"Hello sir, how did you get such... interesting equipment!" Patrick asked, he smiled at the soldier.
The soldier was surprised but didn't show it. He looked down at Patrick with an emotionless, neutral and downright inhuman expression. He started thinking for a bit about the question.
"From the empire," the Roman soldier stated, his face having a slight grin, "Simple really,"
Patrick nodded, this was so cool to him. Roman's having cool laser weapons?! That's so epic! The thought of laser weapons owned by Romans was... so epic! But he also stopped, wait... the Roman understood him!
"That's pretty cool!" Patrick stated he was still confused about the Roman not speaking Latin but he ignored it.
"Yeah, it is." The Roman replied bluntly. "Now get lost kid. You have a great life ahead of you."
Patrick simply nodded and turned around, but then Patrick widened his eyes. Wait, where was he? Like where was he specifically in this technologically advanced Rome? Patrick was questioning himself about this? A little too much? Sure, but it was necessary in the kid's mind.
But then something snapped Patrick out of his trance. He turned around to see the Roman soldier, a hole in the middle of his head. A pool of crimson coming out of his head.
Patrick jumped a little before starting running away like a maniac. He ran as fast as he possibly could, crashing towards many people during the process. A guy got bumped off by Patrick's shoulder.
"Hey!" A citizen yelled out as Patrick pushed him away "What are you doing?"
"Sorry!" Patrick simply replied as he ran off.
Patrick continued running away. All he heard was arguing, complaining and bickering. It consumed his ears as he just continued running off to whatever place he was going to.
But then something he heard shocked him. It scared him, as the dimension hopper ran. A Roman citizen yelled out "It was that kid! I saw him talking to the soldier before he died! He committed the murder!
