The power to time travel was not one to be taken lightly. Especially in the hands of evil. Thank the Goddesses the Keepers weren't ones to the darkness.
The moment Akari and Darkmoia time traveled to Termina, Akari felt the shadows. The musk of death was heavy as the moon was high in the sky, staring down at Clocktown with murderous intent to smash all below it. It was hard for Akari to breath, it felt like a million hands were wrapped around her throat, suffocating her.
Darkmoia coughed slightly as she put her Ocarina away. "You okay?" she asked Akari. She nodded slightly, even though she knew she wasn't okay. "Is Skully here?" Akari asked, trying to desperately get her mind to something else. Darkmoia cleared her throat. "There's a few things I need to tell you before we try travel through here." she answered calmly, her voice wavering a little out of fear. Akari nodded firmly. "There is a moon...with a face....that's going to crash down here in three days. And we're in a shadow realm...more or less." Darkmoia whispered, watching the townspeople. Akari slightly smiled.
"Have you been drinking more wine? I told you the Neolithic is too strong." she laughed lightly. Darkmoia sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose. "I can't do this anymore." she groaned. She turned to look around. "Okay, we need to find Link, tell him what he needs to do." Darkmoia said in a hushed tone.
Silence. "Akari?" she asked. No answer. She turned around to face Akari. She was gone. She cursed in Hylian so loud that bystanders were startled, some covered their children's ears. Darkmoia ran around the town square as she looked for her. "Akariiiiiii!" she screamed, unaware that a certain masked imp was watching her from the top of the clocktower.

Akari stumbled through the cobblestone streets as she had her hands outstretched. She felt multiple eyes looking at her body. She dismissed it as she called for his name. "Skull Kid! Skully, Skull!" she yelled continuously till something hit her, knocking her to the ground and knocking the air out of her. She gasped loudly and slowly. "Oh, forgive me. My luggage is quite...big. I didn't see you." a sweet manly voice answered. A hand grabbed hers as it lifted her up. "No, no. It's alright, it's my own fault I can't see where I'm going." she smiled. There was silence. "Is something wrong?" Akari asked. The man was silent. "My apologies, you looked f-familiar. Have I met you before?" he asked. She shook her head
"I don't think so." she purred, her voice the ringing of bells. She outstretched her hands as she found his face. She groped his cheeks lovingly as she smiled. "You're very handsome." she cooed. He was silent before his cheeks lifted in a smile. "Thank you." he mumbled. She removed her hands from his features as she smiled. "I'm looking for a friend. He's small, wears a hat, he looks like a puppet with a beak mask. He answers to Skull Kid. Have you seen him?" she asked. The man's aura changed completely as she felt his rage. "Yes, he's here actually. He's on the clock tower. If you meet him, he has something of mine, a mask. Could you perhaps...return it to me?" he asked kindly, desperation hinting his voice. She grinned. "Of course." she said.
"The tower is to your left. The stairs are blocked off till 3 days on the festival." he answered. She nodded as she walked towards the direction he said. "Stay safe, mister!" she called.
Akari kept walking till she felt a hard rock like wall. She whistled slightly as a familiar Cuckoo clucked. "Cluckins, love, can you get me up there please?" she crooned to the bird. It flapped happily as she grabbed his legs. He lifted her as he slowly started to rise to the top of the tower. When she reached the top Cluckins crowed happily as she gave him a pat on his head. "Thank you. Go find Darkmoia, will you? Tell her where I am." she added. Cluckins nodded his small head as he flapped back down the tower.
A familiar childish laugh echoed across the sky as Akari turned her head. "Skull Kid?" she asked. Silence. "Skully?" she asked again, holding her hands out. To her happiness, she was met with two smaller hands against hers. "Don't call me that. It's embarrassing." he hissed. She sighed happily. "I missed you so much!" she sighed, embracing his petite body. Instead of his round wooden head, something spikey pushed against her cheek.
She pushed back as her hands went to his face. Her brows furrowed as she caressed the covering on his face. "A-are you wearing a mask?" she asked. He twitched a bit as he snapped his face away from her. She was shocked a little but tried to hide it. "What's wrong, Skull Kid?" she kept her hands out, hoping and yearning for his touch. "Please tell me!" she squeaked. "This world will fall." he answered simply. She tilted her head. "What do you mean? Please, Skully..." she trailed off. He drew in a sharp breath. "Don't call me that." he barked. She jolted back a bit as she felt a hand snatched hers harshly. She hiccupped as the grasp tightened.
He growled quietly but there was something off about it, it was darker and scarier. "You are tainting my puppet, a hindrance to my plan." he snarled, his voice menacing. Tears started to drop down her face. "Skully, this isn't you!" she sobbed. The grip tightened harder.
Her breathing quickened abnormally as she tried to tug away. He cried out in pain as his voice changed normal slightly. His scream echoed like shattered glass as he clutched the mask. He pulled and grabbed at the mask but it didn't come off. Akari held her hands out as she tried to reach for him.
His hand slapped hers away as he continued to scream. "Leave!" he screeched, his voice catching in pain. Her hand grazed the wounded one, its sting became irresistible. His voice was like nails on a chalkboard as he continually moaned out begs and pleads. She covered her ears before she felt something wet touch her palms. She removed her hands from her ringing ears and touched the liquid. It was much too thick to be water. It was blood.
Her cries became sobs as she clawed her hands down her face. "Please, stop!" she said, tears falling like a waterfall down her face. His screams went silent as his neck popped at an unholy angle. Her blood and tears mixed into a concoction or pink colored water as she dropped onto the stone structure. Her eyes fluttered like a dying butterfly as she whimpered slightly. Skull Kid's back bent backwards as the mask looked at her from it's inverted gaze. Whispers came from the mask as he twisted around to walk towards her.
His chilling laughter echoed. He stopped feet from her face as he crouched down. His fingers tapped and traveled over her shoulders before coming to her face, his breathing abnormal and hitching every now and then. "You left me..." his voice snarled. She shook her head fruitlessly. "I-I had no choice..." she sobbed, her tears trickling. "There is always a choice. You told me that." he seethed.
"Skull Kid, I'm so sorry...I wasn't there." she whispered before her body went limp. His neck rose in confusion as he paused. His hand tightened in anger. "YOU. LEFT. ME." he answered, his voice holding malice to every word.
"Kill her..."
"I can't..." he whispered.
"Why not? She does not care about you! SHE LEFT YOU!"
His hand came to her throat as it glowed purple. "I'm sorry...A-Kari." he hissed lightly. His grasp tightened as her mouth opened, gasping for air. A crow sliced through the air as he looked up. The Cuckoo he saw before had flown towards him, carrying a...girl? She leapt from the bird's legs as she dove towards him. Her staff hit his mask as he flew back. She stood over Akari in a protective stance. Her teeth were gritted and her canines were abnormally sharp. She gave him a sharp glare before looking back down towards the injured girl. "I should've never let you go." she whispered.
She turned her face back to the masked Imp. She mentally cursed herself for not bringing her shotgun and turning his kneecaps into red mist. Skull Kid twitched slightly before his chuckle became tremendously darker. His chuckled became a laugh as he clutched his sides. "I was wondering when you would return to my realm...Darkmoia." his voice rumbled happily. Darkmoia's eyes narrowed. "Who the hell are you? We've never met, how do you know my name?" she growled.
He snickered as the mask's eyes glowed. "I have become...immune to your time travel...just like that green clothed brat." he spat. Her eyes widened, almost enough to pop from her skull.
"H-how?"
