TW: mentions of anxiety

"Bleh" was the best description of your day. It was the word you used the most when Matt asked how your day was, that, or "Tiring". Matt was used to it at this point, but something about your tone when you said it was different. It wasn't in the usual fake dramatic tone, it was something more.

Nothing had happened, and you didn't do anything besides scrolling through Instagram to pass the time. The days you stayed home were longer than the days you went to work or spent time with Matt or Foggy. The hours creeping by in slow motion, and sometimes stopping all together.

At times, when Matt was at work or out fighting crime, when you were home by yourself, loneliness would slowly creep up on you until it almost took over you entirely.

These were the times your chest ached and the world felt like it was caving in around you. But of course it wasn't, the world kept turning, even when it should've paused so you could take a minute to breathe. But life went on without sparing a glance towards you.

Matt could hear the difference in your voice, and could tell you had been crying.

"Whats wrong, love?"

"Just tired", you replied, trying to keep your voice casual, even tears started forming in your eyes.

"You don't have to talk about it now if you're not ready. But I'll be here to listen when you are.

Gods, you loved him so much.

Taking your sniffles as a reply, he sat next to you on the couch, and put his arm around you.

"Oh sweetheart. It's going to be okay, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday it will be, and I'll be here everyday until it is, even afterwards."

You hugged him tight, resting your face on his chest, wanting to stay there forever.

"I've just been really anxious recently, I'm terrified and I don't know why, but it's been getting worse and I don't know what to do. I can't sleep, I feel nauseous half the time."

Then you really started to cry. Sobbing into his shirt, the tears never-ending.

"Breathe for me, love, breathe", He said as you began hiccuping.

You took in a shaky breath as you began to feel nauseous. "I think I'm going to be sick, Matty"

"It's okay, just keep breathing. Four more deep breaths like that, okay?"

Four deep breaths later the nausea started to dissipate and exhaustion set in.

"Are you ready for bed?"

Nodding sleepily, he whisked you away to the bed and gently set you down.

"I love you, Y/n, sleep well"

"I love you too, Matt"
