That next morning Fatima was the first to awake since she hadn't been able to get good sleep anyways. She checked on Ezra and Bella before she went downstairs.
She went to the kitchen to make her some tea. She knew Zac would be sleeping in because it was his off day and a Saturday.
"Wasn't expecting you to be up this early" her mother's voice startled her
"Yeah" Fatima says pouring her tea "Had a hard time getting comfortable" she adds
"That's what happens when you dwell in evil spaces, your peace will be disrupted" Evelyn says taking another shot at her sister
"It's 5am" Fatima says
"Evil rest for no one." Evelyn says standing there
"Why do you hate her so bad when she helped you?" Fatima says
"I don't hate noone. I walk with the Lord and leave the devil to take who belongs with him" Evelyn says "She never helped me"
"How do you figure? She raised two of your daughter!" Fatima says combatively
"She didn't raise you. You both were raised well but chose to do what you wanted so y'all ran to the devil for shelter" Evelyn says
"But you're not the devil?" Fatima laughed sarcastically putting the cup to her lips to sip
"Don't disrespect me" her mother said
"How can I disrespect someone I've never respected. I tried to respect you but you would've had to been respected to be disrespected." Fatima says
"I'm a grown ass woman Evelyn. You never respected me as your child. Respect is due to a dog." Fatima continued
"You may be grown but you won't speak to me that way in my house" Evelyn says
"This is my father's house" Fatima spit back
"You see, you spent time dancing with the devil. This is why you were in the position you were in. Out of this house because I'll be damned-
"I was in that position because you were so far up the church's ass and didn't give a damn about your daughters" Fatima says sipping her tea again watching Evelyn became angry. It was amusing.

"No how dare you" Fatima says to Evelyn who was about to respond back but Damien walked in with his robe on.
"Oh good morning to a few of my favorite ladies" Damien says kissing Fatima on her temple and made his way over to his wife
"Good Morning daddy" she says
"I see it's a great start to the morning" he says and Fatima rolled her eyes as she sipped the last of her tea
"Would you like some breakfast honey?" Evelyn ask
"Not at the moment but I would take some coffee" he says and Evelyn jumped into action. Going over to make a fresh pot of coffee.
"Oh Fatima" Damien says as Fatima was heading out of the kitchen.
"Hm" Fatima says turning to face her father
"I need you to come to the church with me. There's a board meeting I want you to sit in" he says
"For what purpose?" Fatima ask
"You can never just do as told" Evelyn interjected
"She has the right to ask questions Evelyn" Damien says to his wife and looked at Fatima who he could tell wanted to respond but didn't
