The day has passed and the night had fallen, bringing on a new day. It was morning and everyone sat exhaustedly.
"So no one has talked to my wife?" Zac asked looking at Damien, Evelyn, and Ezra who by the force of her grandfather, stayed out and did not leave with Nas again.
"Eva have you?" Zac ask through the phone
"Zachary I'm just as worried as you are. She's not answering my calls either" Eva says
"Who knows she probably ran back to New York. Leaving everything she has, that's typical Fatima for you" Evelyn smartly replied
"Evelyn I'm getting tired of your ridiculous comments. When are you going to realize that this is serious! That is your daughter!" Damien snapped
"Damien haven't you've learned by now that she doesn't give two shits about Fatima. She never did! So much damn denial I see why she left!" Eva shouts through the phone
"You claim you care for her because you gave her a place to lay up and have sex! That's what you call caring!?" Evelyn screamed back
"THATS ENOUGH! I am so god damn tired of the back and forth! It's been fucking years!" Damien let out, startling Ezra she had never seen him this upset.
"I've allowed you to separate our children because of your wickedness but I will not allow you to make this all about your selfish acts" he says
All the tension between the two sisters stemmed from Evelyn's own personal battles. When their mother died, she chose Eva as the one to receive pretty much everything she had to her name. She only left Evelyn a couple hundred thousand , a car that served no purpose once it aged with the years and some of the jewelry passed down. Evelyn always felt like she was mistreated by her mother and Eva was the one who was her mother's pride and joy. Their mother left Eva multiple houses in different states that she acquired while they moved from state to state. She also left her the current house she lives in and the land that surrounds it. The neighbor's house also belongs to her but she found better purpose with just selling it. Evelyn hated that Eva received their mother's diamonds and most importantly the bank that her mother founded. When Evelyn heard that Eva was acquiring all of that during the will reading she was furious from that day forth. What added salt to injury, was seeing her daughters gravitate more to Eva after pushing them out. She wanted her daughters to fight for her love but Eva just gave it graciously without any questions.
For years Eva tried make amends with her sister who she loved dearly but each year it seem that Evelyn only hated her more so Eva gave up. She started treating the same and officially dissociated herself when the girls would come crying to her about the treatment from their mother. She disowned her sister and went about her business while Evelyn took every chance to bash Eva. Evelyn would go as far to say that Eva kidnapped her daughters and would not allow her to see them.
"That's who you married but Zachary, I will call you as soon as I hear from her." Eva says hanging up and Evelyn walked away.
"To hell with you" Damien frustratedly flagged her off
"When was the last time you seen her?" Zac ask
"Yesterday. She was sitting here when the officer was questioning Ezra" Damien says "Then she just up and left, I didn't even realize" he says
"So nothing?" Zac ask he was frustrated. He felt like no one was talking.
"Yeah I feel the same" Ezra says sarcastically laughing and Zac turned to look at her
"Yeah so nothing"she mocked still laughing with her hand resting over her chest
"Ezra I'm not-
"Who blames her. I mean then again, she's a liar just like her husband. I'd be running too" she says
