Chapter 20: Circle of Hate Part 2

The cold material of Baji's gun was against Lila's skin as he was on top of her on the ground. His finger was on the trigger; ready to squeeze and let it blow, but suddenly he was hit against his head from a pipe and slumped over to the ground. Lila's eyes was squeezed shut for what was to come, but opened her eyes and saw who it was.

" I'm actually glad you didn't stay in the car." Lila sighed with relief.

" I mean, Adeen and I had a hunch that you would be in trouble. So I tracked you down and found you with him on top of you." Ezra grunted while kicking Baji who was unconscious. He then reached out his hand for Lila to grab, lifting her off the ground.

Lila then squatted down and searched Baji's body for the keys, until she finally found it in his pocket inside of his coat.

" Alright, got the keys. Let's head back towards the car." Lila stated as the both of them started running to the direction of the vehicle.

Takemichi was still laying down on Adeen's lap. The discomfort in his body caused him to quietly moan and whimper as the shockwaves of his wounds keep moving around his body.

Adeen's heart kept aching as seeing Takemichi in pain. Her heart couldn't take it anymore when his stomach started growling, hurting him even more. She gently lifted his head off her lap and onto the cushions as she got up and checked the glove compartments.

" They got to have some sort of snacks in here. He desperately needs it." Adeen mumbled.

After some searching, she found a doriyaki snack. She instantly grabbed it and lifted Takemichi's head to sit back down in her seat. She opened the wrapper and brought it towards Takemichi's mouth, but then stopped once the car doors opened and it was Ezra and Lila barging in.

" We got the keys, we're getting out of here." Ezra announced.

He put the keys in the ignition and started the car and drove down the street. Lila noticed the treat that was in Adeen's hand that was near Takemichi mouth.

"Where did you find that snack?" Lila asked with suspicion.

" Takemichi was starving, so I checked the glove compartment and found it." Adeen replied.

" Give it to me, we don't know if we could trust it yet. We are dealing with a mafia that manufactures lethal drugs." Lila mentioned.

Adeen gave Lila the doriyaki. Lila opened the treat and looked inside for any suspicious color, but it looked fine. But when she smelled the filling, that's was verified her suspicion.

" You can't snell it right away, but it has dangerous drug called green light. They made this a couple of years ago, but never suspected that they would still use it. It disguised itself in foods and drinks. Once you consume it, it will kill you within an instant." Lila explained.

" I can't believe they still make those type of drugs still, it killed a lot of people when they sold it to other mafias." Ezra clenched his jaw.

" Oh my gosh!" Adeen was wide eyed as she realized that she almost killed Takemichi. A tear escaped her eye from the guilt that was consuming her.

" Its alright Adeen, you didn't know, but now you do." Ezra assured.

" But, I almost killed Takemichi! I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Adeen apologized with tears running down her cheek.

" Adeen, you didn't know. You were just trying to help Hanagaki. He will understand, your just caring for him." Lila comforted.

Adeen stopped her tears and gazed down at Takemichi who shifted his face towards her abdomen, trying to rest. Adeen put her hand on his cheek and softly rubbed it with her thumb.
