Actor Noah & rich Mike AU, modern day, UK

"I'm so sick of this...why does everyone suck?!" Frederick cried, his face in his hands as the others looked at him in pity.

Michael, Frederick, Simon, and Mark had been lounging at their favorite cafe just as Frederick's girlfriend texted him that they were breaking up.

"C'mon, look at the bright side man! You're not the only single one out of us, and there'll be others," Mark tried cheering him up. Which, surprisingly, seemed to work. Although--Mike was confused.

"What do you mean he's not the only single one? Did you two break up?" Michael asked, directing his question towards Mark and Simon; boyfriends. He clearly didn't understood who the other single one was.

The other three shared awkward glances at each other--not knowing how to tell Mike without embarrassing him.

"Well, uh..." Simon started. "It's not bad to be single Mike!" He chuckled awkwardly. Michael wasn't following, however, and Frederick had to butt in.

"Look, Mike. We know you're not being totally...truthful about your dating status. I mean, c'mon...you could've come up with something better than 'they're in a different country'. Really dude?"

Michael looked offended. "I'm not lying! Do you guys really think I'd care enough to lie about something like that? It's not my fault they don't live around here!"

"Okay...then how did you two even meet?" Mark asked.

Mike scoffed. "I've told you guys, like, a million times! Their family travels here for vacation every year, we met when we were twelve!"

Everyone besides Michael shared a look, and the latter rolled his eyes.

"Whatever you say, man. But summer's coming up, so shouldn't they be visiting so again?" Frederick said, hoping to get Mike to admit his lie.

The Afton's expression seemed to lighten at the question. "You're right...I haven't heard anything about them visiting, though. It hasn't really come up..." He wondered, having not thought about it before.

One of them mumbled an 'of course' and Mike was agitated enough to make up an excuse and leave his friends behind.

Although he was annoyed, the four had plans to watch movies and eat loads of snacks that night--something Michael wasn't about to pass up.

He'd been looking forward to it, actually, because one of the movies they planned to watch starred Noah. Mike hadn't even seen the film yet, so saying he was excited was an understatement.

Hours later, the tenseness between Michael and his friends had faded while they were deciding which movie to watch first.

"How 'bout this one first?" Simon suggested, pointing to a dvd for a movie labeled 'Transfusion', the movie Noah was the star in. It was a horror-thriller about a scientist trying to uncover the whereabouts of his missing partner--Noah told Mike there was some big twist at the end, but the latter didn't know what yet.
