...

The morning light filtered gently through the curtains as (Y.name) stirred awake. She tried to sit up but was immediately met with a sharp sting from her wounds, forcing her to wince and fall back onto the bed. Looking down, she noticed her body was already cleaned and her injuries were meticulously bandaged. The soft scent of antiseptic hung in the air, mingling with the more comforting smells of the room-a subtle blend of wood and old books. As she lay there, she began to replay the events from earlier in the day, the memories surfacing with an aching clarity.

...

The group of spiders had gathered in May's cozy living room, the atmosphere tense as they awaited Peni's completion of the new goober. Spider Noir, with his fedora tilted low, was deeply engrossed in solving a Rubik's cube, his intense focus occasionally broken by Spider Ham's eager suggestions. Gwen sat close to (Y.name), trying her best to console her visibly distraught friend.

"How could I say that? I was so wrong! I should've kept my mouth shut like always!" (Y.name)'s voice trembled with frustration and regret. She pressed her palms against her temples, trying to shut out the self-recrimination echoing in her mind.

Gwen reached out, her voice soft yet firm. "Hey, don't worry. You did the right thing."

"The right thing?!" (Y.name) snapped, her eyes flashing with a mix of anger and self-loathing. "The right thing was to support him, not completely destroy his self-esteem!" Her voice cracked slightly, the weight of her guilt pressing down on her.

Gwen sighed, her gaze drifting to Peter, who was now fiddling with the new device, securing it around his neck with a pensive look. "Peter, help me out here! Tell (Y.name) she did the right thing, that she was right to tell Miles he wasn't ready."

Peter glanced up, his expression thoughtful before a small smile tugged at his lips. "Actually, I'm on (Y.name)'s side on this. In fact, I bet Miles is about to come through that door right now, ready to get us home."

As if on cue, the front door burst open with a loud crash, revealing Miles, panting heavily as he leaned against the doorframe, his chest rising and falling rapidly.

"My-uh-my uncle-!" Miles gasped out, barely able to catch his breath, his wide eyes reflecting a mix of fear and desperation. (Y.name) was by his side in an instant, her hand resting gently on his shoulder.

"Hey, slow down," she soothed, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her. "It's okay. Take deep breaths. You're safe now."

But Miles shook his head vehemently, his words tumbling out in a frantic rush. "No-no I'm not. My uncle-he's the Prowler! He's working for Kingpin and he's trying to kill me!"

"That's a pretty hardcore origin story," Spider Noir muttered under his breath, earning a sharp nudge from Peni.

"Were you followed?" Gwen's voice cut through the tension, sharp and concerned.

"No... I don't think so-" Miles began, but his words were cut short as everyone's spider senses flared simultaneously. The air grew thick with anticipation, the room falling into a tense silence as they quickly donned their masks and prepared for whatever was about to come.

The doorbell rang, its innocent chime a stark contrast to the tension in the air. A split second later, a metallic tentacle smashed through the door, sending May's tray of tea and treats crashing to the ground.

"Cute place, real homey," Doc Ock's voice echoed through the room as she slowly made her entrance, her mechanical limbs curling and uncurling with menacing precision.

"Oh great, it's Liv," May muttered, her voice laced with exasperation.

The situation escalated quickly as more villains stormed into the house, their presence turning the once cozy living room into a battlefield. The spiders found themselves surrounded, each one bracing for the inevitable clash.

"Oh, let me guess; you're Scorpio? Well, we're the spider, uh-gang," Peter quipped, dropping into a fighting stance, his eyes darting around for any sign of weakness. Doc Ock's gaze zeroed in on the goober around his neck, her lips curling into a smirk.

"I'll be taking that," she declared.

The fight erupted in an instant, chaos ensnaring the room as the two sides clashed. In the midst of the battle, (Y.name)'s eyes locked onto the Prowler, whose attention was fixated on Miles. "Peni, cover me!" she shouted, her voice cutting through the din.

Within seconds, Peni was at her side, battling Scorpio while (Y.name) charged toward the Prowler. "Hey buddy, wanna know what'll look good on your face?" she taunted, her voice laced with determination as she swung toward him at full speed. "My fist!" Her punch landed with a satisfying thud, sending the Prowler crashing across the room.

"Miles, you have to go," she instructed, her voice urgent.

"What?! I can't just do that!" Miles protested, his voice edged with panic.

"What do you mean you can't-?!" (Y.name) began, but her words were abruptly cut off as a powerful force gripped her neck, yanking her backward. She barely had time to register what was happening before she was hurled through the window. The glass shattered around her, jagged shards cutting into her skin as she plummeted to the ground below.

Her body hit the pavement with a sickening thud, the impact driving the breath from her lungs. She lay there, pain radiating through her body as she struggled to stay conscious.

"(Y.name)!!" Miles' voice echoed in her ears, filled with a mix of fear and anguish. But before she could respond, darkness claimed her.

...

The sound of a familiar voice snapped her back to the present. She turned her head slowly, wincing as the movement sent fresh waves of pain through her body. The rest of the spiders stood by the door, concern etched across their faces.

"(Y.name)!!!" Peni's voice was the first to reach her, the young girl rushing to her side and enveloping her in a gentle hug, careful not to aggravate her injuries.

"Hey, (Y.name)," Gwen's voice was softer now, tinged with a mixture of relief and urgency as she stepped forward. "We were about to go to Miles. Are you willing to come?"

(Y.name) nodded silently, her determination unwavering despite the pain coursing through her body. She slowly rose from the bed, pushing the pain to the back of her mind as she joined the others.

As they made their way outside, Gwen pulled (Y.name) aside, her expression stern and unyielding. "You know what needs to be done," she said firmly, her voice leaving no room for argument.

(Y.name) bit her lip, her heart heavy with the weight of the decision she had to make. As much as she hated to admit it, Gwen was right-Miles wasn't ready. The thought gnawed at her, a sharp pang of guilt twisting in her chest.

With a soft sigh, (Y.name) looked away, her voice barely above a whisper as she nodded reluctantly. The decision made, they all set off toward Visions Academy, the weight of what lay ahead pressing down on them all.
