Only an hour until our very first big gig. We're playing at the BST Hyde Park and I still can't wrap my head around it. We started as friends playing just for fun in the basement after school and now we have many fans around the world and give interviews.

I'm sitting in our green room nervously bouncing my knee up and down. It's crazy how we made it so far. If I am already this nervous I can't imagine how nervous Sarah our singer must be. She has to sing in front of this huge audience. I mean we already had some gigs but we never had such a huge audience.

Time flies and it's now time for us to go on stage. The four of us walk out on the stage and I take my seat behind the drums. The crowd is already cheering wich calms me down a bit. We start playing our first song then our second. I give everything I have hitting the drums as fast as I can for our last song. And then it's over. The lights go out and the crowd is clapping and cheering. We leave the stage waving the crowd and going back to our green room.

We talk about our gig until someone knocks on the door.

"I'll get it," Sarah says walking to the door. She opens it only to reveal a man standing there.

"Hey, I'm Alex," the man says.

"Hello Alex, what is it?" Sarah asks.

"I just wanted to say you guys did amazing out there, especially your drummer did an incredible job," he says looking into the room. His eyes look around like he is searching for someone.

"Oh well, thank you," Sarah responds. She notices him searching for someone.

"Our drummer is the beautiful women over there," she says pointing at me. "Hey y/n, come here."

I walk over to Sarah and the man. He looks very handsome I have to admit.

"Alex," he says shaking my hand smiling at me.

"Y/n, nice to meet you," I say smiling back at him.

Sarah returns to the group leaving me and Alex alone.

"I just wanted to tell you that you were amazing. Seriously, I've never seen anyone play the drums that good. Well, maybe except my mate Matt," he says laughing a little.

I blush a little at his compliment and his laugh is really cute.

"Are you also in a band?" I ask him.

"Yes, I'm the lead singer actually. Have you heard of the 'Arctic Monkeys' before?"

"Yeah, I've heard of them, why?"

"That's our band," he says smiling and looking down.

"No way, that's so cool," I say excited.

"Yeah, but enough from me. Actually I wanted to ask if you'd like to drink a coffee with me?" he asks rubbing his neck smiling shyly.

"Oh, yes sure," I say surprised.

"Great, tomorrow 12 pm?" He sounds relieved.

"Yes, sounds good," I smile. "Wait I give you my number," I say as he pulls out his phone. I type my number in and we say our goodbyes.

I return to the group and Sarah smirks at me wiggling her eyebrows.

"Y/n has a date, y/n has a date," she sings.

"Oh shut up," I say blushing, hitting her jokingly to shut her up.

After some time we go to our hotel as it is late and we all need some sleep. We check in and wish each other a good night before slipping into our rooms. I get ready for bed and then read a little in one of the magazines laying on the coffee table.

Suddenly my phone rings. I pick up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's Alex from earlier today."

"Oh hello Alex."

"I call because I forgot to tell you where I want to meet you tomorrow," he says.

"No worries, I didn't even notice," I laugh.

We talk about tomorrow and then some more about band stuff.

"It's late you probably want to sleep now," Alex says after a while.

"It's fine, I enjoy talking to you," I say then yawning. "I'm sorry," I say a little embarrassed.

"Don't be, get some rest and we'll see each other tomorrow. Have a good night," he says.

"Thanks, sleep well," I answer and we both hang up.

I don't know but it feels like I have known Alex for a long time even though we only met today. The whole time we talked there wasn't an awkward silence and he seems genuinely interested. Just thinking about meeting him tomorrow gives me butterflies. I never believed in love at first sight until today.

"And that's how daddy and I met," I say looking at Alex and my daughter.

"What happened next?" she asks.

"Well we met and were out all day and then we had another date and another," I answer smiling at the thought of all our dates and everything that followed.

"Tell me more mummy," she says looking at me with puppy eyes.

"Tomorrow, okay love? It's time for you to sleep now."

"Okay mummy," our daughter says snuggling into her pillow.

"Good night," I whisper kissing her head and turning off the lights. I then walk out and shut the door quietly. I go downstairs into Alex's home studio where he's sitting writing on a song text. I hug him from behind and he turns around kissing me lightly.

"Could you put the little monster to sleep?" he laughs.

"Yup," I sigh tired from the day.

"What story did she want to hear today?" he asks.

"The story of how her mummy and daddy met," I say smiling. I straddle him and hug him tight. He holds me tight and strokes my back. After a while I pull away to look at him.

"How's it going with the new song?"

"Good, but I think I stop for today. Let's go to sleep shall we?" he smiles.

I nod tiredly. I get up and we both go upstairs hand in hand.

As we lay in bed I scoot closer to Alex putting my head on his chest.

"I love you."

I love you too, darling, Alex whispers.
