About a week had passed since the supermarket situation and I hadn't seen Björn around again. School was starting soon and I hoped I would see him before I got busy with academics. "Maybe you'll see him at school or something." Aglaya mentioned while looking over the list of school supplies we needed. "Why do we always have these talks while writing lists?" I said, trying to direct the conversation somewhere else. "Because lists are boring, love lives aren't." She said in reply. "Love life? For the last time I don't like-" I said before being cut off by the sound of someone walking down the stairs. "You like who?" The person said. It turned out to be my cousin, Arina. "You mean don't like." I said. "What are we? Middle schoolers? Change that to 'I'm crushing on Björn Andresen!' or maybe 'I love Björn Andresen but sadly my cousin slash best friend can see through the facade I put up of not loving him.'." Aglaya said. "Björn? Björn Andresen? Like the famous attractive male actor that happens to be attending our school this year?" Arina said, directing the sentence at me. "Attending our school this year?" I said, suprise, shock, and anxiety in my voice. "Ha! What are the odds! We were just talking about him maybe attending our school." Aglaya said, the feelings in her voice being the antonyms of mine. "Our dear Inka can see her crush for the whole year." Arina said, smiling at me. "You two are insufferable." I said, rolling my eyes. "We know you love all this info your getting. Aglaya said. "No need to hide your feelings" Arina said. "There are no feelings to hide." I replied. "Totally." Agalya replied. "Anyway, we are going school shopping today, without mom following us!" Arina said excitedly. "This year im gonna beat Astrid in the challenge for all denim clothing." Aglaya said. "I was thinking about asking for some Paint N' Wear clothes. It was either that or a Mickey Mouse watch." I said, joining the conversation. "Mickey Mouse watch for sure. Paint N' Wear clothes are Vera Eklund's thing." Arina said in reply. "Girls! It's time you give the list to me!" Aunt Aggie said, coming down the stairs. "Here." Aglaya said before handing the list to her mother.

"We should make a name for ourselves... like super cool popular people in movies do." Arina said. "I'll think about it!" I said before walking to my room, shutting the door gently, and picking up my guitar. I opened one of the compartments in my wooden drawer and took out the sheet music for 'Child in Time' by Deep Purple. I then grabbed the black music stand my aunt bought for me after she heard I had a guitar, and placed the sheet on there. I grabbed my nylon guitar pick from my dresser and looked up at the sheet. I blew out a heavy breath of air before playing the song.
I had just finished the melody when someone knocked on my door. I was slightly startled before I walked over to the door and saw my mother. "You play beautifully. Just like your father." She said. I was caught off guard by the sudden mention of the man but brushed it off. "Except I'm better than him." I said, smiling. "Hm." My mother said while simply smiling, nodding, and walking back to where she originally was. Soon after she exited my room, Aglaya walked in. "Hey, so I thought we could talk more about school because Arina is busy making plans with her boyfriend and Mitya is out. Doing...something." She said. "You don't have to make excuses. You could just say that I'm super cool and you want to talk to me." I said, overly exaggerating my confidence in a humorous way. "Sure sure, whatever floats your boat." Aglaya replied. "So...what clubs do you think you're gonna join?" I asked, putting down my guitar and fulfilling Aglaya's wish to converse with me. "I think I'm gonna do cheer again this year. Art too because that makes me cool, hot, and mysterious!" She said. I rolled my eyes in response and said "I think I'm going to join band. I will also do Art because 1:we could be together, and 2:...being cool and mysterious is a plus." "So you do care about social status!" Aglaya said excitedly. "What made you think I didn't?" "Nothing. Nothing at all." She said, sarcastically.

"Girls! It's time to go!" Me and Aglaya heard a voice call from downstairs, saying those words. We had been talking for awhile and ended up going to her room to listen to music while braiding each other's hair. "I guess it's time to go shopping!" I said excitedly to Aglaya, which her energy matched. Our outfits had changed since we had been strolling around the house in pajamas. I wore a yellow and white striped dress that included flare sleeves, with flare socks and yellow Mary janes. The accessories I displayed was a pearl beaded headband, and a pearl beaded bracelet on my right arm. I also had my hair down and brushed. Aglaya wore a pink and white striped dress that tied in the middle. For accessories and shoes, she had red loafers and had a beaded necklace that merged pink and white in the pattern. Aglaya had her hair in a high ponytail."I think we rocked our outfits once again!" I said to Aglaya. "I agree." She said, nodding her head and smiling. We untied the lopsided and unprofessional braids we had made on one another's hair while stepping down the stairs, careful not to trip. The weather outside was a Goldilocks reference itself, not too hot or cold. I had brought my walkman and trusted Aglaya with the cds.
I started listening to Sing Me Back Home by the Grateful Dead, a new band Aglaya introduced me to. I didn't exactly know what Aglaya was listening to but I guessed something by Pink Floyd.

We finally made it to our last stop, the mall. All of us had gone to multiple stores for basic school supplies plus little professor calculators. "You girls can go in the stores while i find somewhere to park." Aunt Aggie said. "Okay, thanks mom!" Aglaya said before hopping out the van, missing the step bar and slightly tripping onto the sidewalk. "You okay Laya?" I asked, showing true concern. "Yeah I'm good. Make sure you don't let my excitement take over." Aglaya said, smiling. "Yeah I will." I responded, relieved that she didn't twist her ankle. Aunt Aggie drove away as we walked into the shopping heaven.
