"And then she smiled. That's what I'm after: the smile in her eyes and the sound of her laughter."

Finally, we had made it to the weekend. I've decided to talk to Luka about the letters that I'd found in my locker for the past few weeks, hoping that he can provide some insight.

"I already know it's him, Caiia." I said as I packed up my sword to teach Luka some new skills.
"Yeah, but what if he plays dumb??" she asked, and I chuckled a bit before giving her a piece of a gram cracker.

"You're such a worry wart." I said, grabbing my bag after putting on my jacket. "Come on, let's go."

I walked downstairs with my things to go to Luka's, but, weirdly enough, he was already here. I remember giving him my address about a week ago, but I didn't think he'd actually show up.
"Luka," I said quietly. "What a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting you here today." I smiled brightly at him, and he quickly returned it.

"I thought maybe we could go to the school and ask Mr. D'Argencourt if we can use the courtyard to practice today." he said. His statement caused me to think for a bit. Use the courtyard? I hadn't thought about that yet, and to be completely honest, it was pretty smart.

"Okay," I said quietly. "Let's head over there and ask him, shall we?" I smiled and walked over to him, saying goodbye to aunt Helena as we left the house.

"So," Luka started quietly. "I heard there was an akuma attack the other day."

"Yes," I responded, not making eye contact. "Did you want to discuss that?"

Luka stopped and looked down at me. "You know I already know your little secret, don't you?" he asked such a silly question, and I nodded a quick yes in response.
"Then you know you can tell me anything, right?"

I looked down for a moment, then let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. "I fought Mr. D'Argencourt the other day." I blurted out. "I used my sword against his, took his akuma since he lost and we made a  bet on that, and I cleansed it."

Luka seemed shocked. Something in his eyes and body language told me that he had never heard of anyone cleansing an akuma before. I raised an eyebrow. "Is there something wrong..?" I asked hesitantly, beginning to reach out to him.

Luka didn't falter. "N-no, I just..." he said quietly. I could feel his heart racing. "I thought only Ladybug could cleanse akumas. No one else has ever cleansed an akuma before besides her because no one else has the ability to."

This is where realization decided to hit me like a freight train. I finally understood why Ladybug didn't like me. It wasn't because I was a good fighter, nor was it because I came off as cold. It was because I could do something that was once believed only she could do.

"Yvonne?"

"That's why she didn't like me."

A look of confusion washed over Luka's face. "What?"

"That's why she didn't like me." I repeated. "She isn't the only one that can cleanse anymore. She thinks I'm better than her, so that's why she doesn't like me."

I nearly dropped my bag as I stood on my realization. Luka grabbed my hand and snapped me out of my thoughts. "Have you thought about talking to her?"

Talking? To Ladybug? Like she would even listen to a word I say. I scoffed lightly, looking up at Luka. "Ladybug is petty and doesn't actually care for her fans." I said harshly, my expressions more emotionless and cold than usual.

"Whoever sits behind her mask keeps letting her personal life interfere with her job. That's not healthy. It's crucial to find the balance between everyday life and heroic duties. She doesn't understand that and honestly? Sucks to suck. She can either figure it out on her own the hard way or take the easy way by growing up and asking for help in finding balance."
