A up close experience-part1

As Theo walks into the gym  followed by Eevee he hears a voice exclaim " you can bet I'll be watching Paul battle".

As Theo walks in he see's an Azurmarill going against Roark's Geodude.

"Now Azurmarill use hydro pump" and so Azurmarill leaps into the air and unleashes a powerful hydro pump heading straight towards the rock like Pokémon " Now Geodude counter it with hidden power" and so Geodude launched the almost seed looking attack.

It clicked "it's hidden power grass" Theo said gaining the attention of the three people Infront of him. "what do you mean ?" Dawn asks,  Every Pokémon can use Hidden power and for each Pokémon the move will be a different type.

As they all turn there attention back to the battle Paul has an unimpressed look on his face

" Now Geodude keep the pressure on, Rollout" and then Geodude starts rolling towards Azurmarill at an incredible speed, "Azurmarill use water gun" Paul shouts in vain as Geodude comes smashing straight into water type Pokémon.

"So that's Roark style works by giving his opponents no chance to counter" Brock says giving his opinion on his fellow rock type gym leader's  style.

Theo smiled Roark style slowly becoming more prevalent and bare to him he laid back now content on just enjoying the battle.

" Now Geodude finish this" Geodude sprung up into the air still spinning at unimageable rate and smashes right into the Aqua rabbit Pokémon and Azurmarill is sent flying into the ground. "Azurmarill is unable to battle and therefore Geodude is the winner". Paul's face while calm had a mask of irritation hid behind it "Return , You where pathetic" Paul says to the Pokémon.

Which catches Theo off-guard as he would never speak to Eevee or Turtwig and even his newly acquired Aron as well although there had to be a reason for the way Paul acted but Theo dismissed it in his mind.

"Now Elekid Stand by for battle" Paul states loudly dragging Theo out of his thoughts as he slowly raises his pokedex upon seeing this Pokémon the one he saw Paul with earlier, Roark face seemed curious yet cautious as he thought to himself out loud.

" I'm sure Paul knows that Electric is weak against ground and it's moves can do no damage to us let's stay sharp Geodude" The Pokémon turns around  and put's it's thumb up before turning around and staring down it's opponent.

" Now Elekid Brick-Break" Roark smiles " Clever a fighting type move but we are going to stick  with Roll-out" 

" GEODUDE" as the Pokémon goes rolling towards Elekid  simply raises its arm and waits for perfect moment as Geodude gets close striking Geodude right on its head smashing straight into the ground a cloud of dust being sent up due to the impact as it clears Geodude is still on the ground not moving.

"Geodude is unable to battle Elekid is the winner" .

Theo stood up and moved next to to the other 3 ahead of him

" You have to admit he may not treat them all to well but some Pokémon are different from others where as Pikachu respect your love and care his Elekid respects Paul's power and cunning when it comes to battle" Theo says tyring to play devil's advocate.

" I have to admit Ash but Theo here is right some Pokémon will attach themselves to trainers for different reasons" Brock says with his serious yet placid tone plastered on his face.

Roark smiles " Geodude return, thanks a lot good friend and now Onix let's do this". The massive snake like creature made completely out of rock as well as this it completely dwarfed Elekid.

" I'll be sticking with my Elekid" Roark nod's before giving Onix it's first command " We know that your going to use brick break so I'll be interested to see how you deal with this now Onix use slam " Paul's face stayed the same showing no emotion " Now Elekid brick break".

 As the electric type leaped forward Onix dodged backwards with some impressive speed before flipping its and delivering a powerful slam smashing Elekid into the ground causing extra damage " That's fast " Ash stating the obvious, " how could something so fast move so quickly"

" Now slam again Onix" Onix begin to move towards " Quick use protect" Elekid moves its hand up and a protective barrier is formed around the small Pokémon and Onix's brutal slam crashes into the shield and just as the shield begins to comedown "  Double-edge let's go" and it smashes into Elekid.

" Wow Onix waited till just before protect wore off before striking " Dawn said impressed with Onix's power and speed. " yeah  dawn your right but Onix got hurt using that double-edge" Ash states " Onix looks fine to me" Theo says giving a small bit of input towards it " Well that's because Onix has rock head a special ability that prevents it from taking recoil from moves"

" Stay strong, or else" Paul states as Elekid grunts and tries to stand back up " Stealth rock go" # Roark commands

Suddenly sharpened and pointed rocks go barrelling towards Elekid as he finally pushes himself of the ground but at the last second they go up into the air and slam into the ground before disappearing " Did he stay Stealth rock" Paul says very animated compared to how he has acted during the rest of the battle.

Almost as if he had read dawn's mind " Stealth rock has no impact on the Pokémon currently on the field as you'll learn some moves are used to give an immediate advantage moves like toxic and Will-o-wisp cause secondary effects to edge them closer to there limit"
Dawn looked away from Theo and towards Brock for confirmation to which he nodded.

" If you were going to exchange your Pokémon you should have done it before, now Onix slam once again" Onix moves quickly and slams Onix into the ground once again Elekid starting to feel the pain but all of a sudden Onix springs up electricity surrounding his body and now isn't moving as fast as he once was

" What's wrong with Onix ?" Dawn ponders " Onix has been paralysed due to Elekid special ability static is massively affect a Pokémon's speed as well as making then sometimes unable to use a move." 

" Now Elekid use brick-break" Elekid springs back up regaining its speed its arm glowing as it prepares it's move " Now Onix intercept it with double edge" Onix begins to glow as races towards Elekid and as there moves clash a gust goes through the gym and small explosion is created knocking both Pokémon back.

" Don't get to comfortable with static Onix can still just as quick and I'd like to say I'm impressed Elekid is a resilient Pokémon" Roark says trying to do his job as a gym leader  "ONIX" let out a roar backing up his gym leader's point " Elekid return" As Paul calls back the electric type " What's Paul doing" Dawn question's " I don't think he cares about the effect of stealth rock" Brock states " Of course not he doesn't care if any of his Pokémon get hurt" Ash said a flare of anger that Theo hadn't heard from the young trainer from Kanto since meeting him.

" Now Chimchar stand by for battle " as the fire monkey Pokémon leaped out suddenly the rocks leaped out of the ground before striking into chimchar " Chimcharrr" as its flips out of the dust breathing heavily.

" A fire type,  I love the way you come at me with Pokémon that are weak to rock but it won't make a difference." Onix tries to move but static affects it " Now Chimchar use dig" the Pokémon quickly burrows under ground everything seems to go silent as Onix stays still trying to sense where Chimchar will emerge just then static re-emerges " Come on when will that static wear off" As Onix struggles to move " Now Chimchar" Paul commands, Chimchar sprung out of the ground and launched Onix in the air.

Onix's snake like body slammed backdown leaving a mark on the ground. " Onix is unable to battle Chimchar wins and leaves Roark with just one Pokémon  but Paul shouldn't be to assured of victory" your friendly author being the equivalent of the Pokémon narrator said a voice full of suspense
